and for our food stuff from the water I love, love them all.

But on a scarey note, in the Great Lakes a South American breed has surfaced. On the news this morning they showed pictures of the the little fishies that were never here before and they are an intimidating breed. Freak'n things have teeth similar human teeth. Ouch. But straighter than most humans before they go to the orthodontist.

It's frustrating that some of the other olympic events are on during the weekdays when I'm at work. I would have loved to see the fencing and equestrian events, to name a few.

As for judo, nice to hear this morning on the news that Kayla Harrison (USA) win another gold medal.
If you haven't seen it yet, the fencer that lost his cell phone while fencing in the Olympics...priceless. My DS used to fence, and he thought it rather scandalous. I am sure his old teacher would not have been happy about it.

@gabe 1 Were you at Woodfield yesterday, by any chance? As I was leaving TJ's, I saw a car with a license plate that reminded me of you, and I thought, no it couldn't be. If it wasn't you, I'll tell you about it. If it was, I'll keep zipped up about it.

Tonite I get to choose between watching the Chicago Bears, or watching the Chicago Cubs. I guess a lot of channel flipping will be going on. Bears are behind already. It's already the 2nd quarter.

I am resting my foot, and I have been making granny triangles all day long. View attachment 155473
I always wanted to know how to knit or crochet. No one in my family knew how to do either.

Hahaaa...!
DS just brought this to me...

It's a comic book from 1967.
He was out with a friend of his that has been a buddy since pre-k. His friend has been a paraplegic since age 3 from an accident, but, has his truck set up for him to drive.
DS used some of his yard work money from helping my pop. Nice!
He picked himself up a coupla' Captain America comic books from the 60's, as well, from Half Price Books.
The reflection is the flash on the plastic covering. Look at that original price in the upper right corner... ;)
I love how Donald has accidentally stuck his paddle through the side of the canoe...!!! :hilarious:
That sure brought back memories for me. I loved the old cartoons, with Hewey, Duey, and Louie.

Well, unfortunately, it has been a tradition in my family that men don't know how to be grandfathers. There were times I would be over my grandfather's house, sitting in the same room, and he would ignore me and talk to his sons. My aunt said that was how my great grandfather was with them. I told my dad a while ago that should I have kids, that pattern needs to end.
Sorry.

My dad called this evening. Apparently, someone stole my stepgrandmother's purse while they were having shiva (basically, a post funeral event where morners come to give their condolences; Jews don't do a viewing). My dad's sister in law texted my stepgrandmother's phone and said, "If you find this phone, please call ..." Someone called them and said it was found on a bench down in Baltimore City. The purse was returned. All of her credit cards and $100 cash were missing.

I can't say my stepgrandmother is my favorite person in the world, but to bury your husband in the morning and have your purse stolen in the afternoon...I feel terrible for the woman.
That's awful, sometimes, humans are a sorry lot.

I hear that!
At one point in his youth, my pop (my pop is 83 - who knows what those might have been worth now :greedy:) had acquired a few comic books. Turns out, at some point his mother thought they would be better used (since he had "already read them all") as wood stove fire starters...!!!!! :hilarious:
Hubby's parent's sold all his comic books, including a lot of Superman, in a garage sale.

Yes, I have been going to the same school since I was 4 years old and so has my sister. We have some pretty close friends that have been at the school with us for a long time and also our Church. My Sister is going into the 11th Grade this year and I am going into the 8th Grade. I also love the teachers there and the small classes.
Our grandson is going into the 8th grade, also.

I am the same way, very firm in my beliefs just lacking the dedication to worshiping in an organized religion. Having 2 pedifiles back to back in our little hamlet parish polished off any faith in our diocese. I laughed hilariously when I was told my son was required to go away on a weekend retreat to be confirmed.Wasn't happening.
That's certainly understandable.
