Boston just won the US Olympic bid for 2024. The corrupt IOC is not picking the Olympic city for 2024 until 2017. Get ready for Big Dig 2  if we get it. Boston and Providence will be the two major cities, soccer will be played at Gillette Stadium, which Providence is closer so most people will probably go there. We can't handle it.

UGH. Please no. Commuting whether via car or public transportation is enough of a nightmare as it is in Boston, without bringing in thousands of visitors to add to the gridlock. I'll puke if the city's bid is granted.

Yowza! I have forever dreamed of a giant sorcerer's hat blocking that egregious view of that hideous Chinese theatre.
Gosh, I hope they paint it blue, and adorn it with gold swirlies, and a big white four fingered Mickey hand.

Now that this wish has been granted, I hope they add a big wand to SSE, and turn the bland Cinderella's castle into a pink, whipped frosting birthday cake!

Please, please, pretty please.

:hilarious: :joyfull: :)

Asst Store Manager.

Cool.
ASM was where our SM had me headed next, 'cause our ASM at the time was gonna' head to the higher volume outlet Store up the road. But, fate intervened and my old firm brought me back under contract. Couldn't make the ASM commitment.

Fingers crossed for ya'. The Disney Store, and retail in general, was a great learning experience for me.

Do the citizens of Boston want the Olympics?

It cracked. And leaked ... hot tea, all over my hand.
I am sad. Inconsolable, even.

And, maybe just a tad over-dramatic. :hilarious:

Dear me. Only one thing left to do... :(
Find a new favourite tea mug..!!! :joyfull: ;) :)

It was one of a set of four.
The green one, my least favourite, broke a year or so ago, while SIL was using it.
Now, my favourite blue one has bit the dust.

That leaves yellow (meh) and red ... my new favourite.

Aha ha, I just noticed the "favourite" in bold. Funny boy!
If you can't be with the one you love... love the one you're with.

My hair is long, very thick and wavy. It gets flat ironed or I'd look like Cousin It.
My hair is mostly missing!

Just dress warmly for it. I'm always amazed by the people who've lived here in New England all their lives, and they still don't know how to layer up properly for the bitter cold.

Hahaaa...!
Even this ol' boy knows that from his backpacking days. Ya' got insulating warm air between each layer of clothing, and ya' can peel 'em off as things warm up, or add 'em back as things cool down again. :)

Sorry if this has been posted before, but, I heard a rumor they were building a giant sorcerers hat at Disney-MGM Studios. Anybody else heard anything about this...?! o_O
Also, I found this pic...

@donaldtoo , how are Ranger and Belle in your somewhat colder weather? Do they enjoy it, or are they hot weather dogs? My dog is a wuss; he wants no part of colder weather at all. Basically, he just likes to stay inside with us and get into mischief. He gets all out of sorts when one of us is not home; he'll often wait and stare at the front window until we come home. Then he gets all excited again, runs around and acts double crazy to celebrate that the pack is all here together! :joyfull:

Ha! That Jack! He's a card...!!! :joyfull: :)

They seem to be doin' just fine with the cooler weather. Fur coats, and all. ;) They like their outside time. :)
Right now, they're both carpped out on the bed with us.
They sure take up A LOT more room than they used to...! ;) :)

Hubby and I were really hoping that Chicago would have been awarded the 2016 Olympics instead of Rio. His sister lives in a Chicago suburb and it would have been fun to go down there and see some events.

We had very mixed opinions on the Olympics. One of my DS friends actually worked for the marketing firm that created all the premium items handed out to those decision makers and decor for the visits. It would have brought some great redevelopment to some of those areas that are not so good in Chicago. The downside is what they'd be doing with all those displaced, both people and businesses?

I lived in the city when I was small and then my folks moved us out to the suburbs. The hotels and such would have been filled downtown very quickly however there are two major train stations plus Amtrack. Staying or commuting from the Suburbs would have happened. But no matter how they pitch it they always loose big money. The ones that say they have not have played lots of games with their line items of their budgets.

JC Penny has been doing poorly for a while now. They suffer from poor management and poor marketing. It's really quite a shame because I've gotten some really nice stuff from there.

I agree. You just have to pick through their departments but some stuff is nice quality. I hope they make it. I really wonder about Sears though.
