Is there extra money for Disney involved?Ok kids, I have a conundrum for you. I got an email from my principal looking for teacher to attend a 2 day technology training at the start of August. I kind of want to go because it looks interesting but I'm unsure if I want to give up 2 full summer days for it. I have already spent the last two days working on curriculum for the new class I have to teach this year and there is still a lot more to do for that......What to do?

Do what you think is most appropriate for your own situation.
Not knowing any of the background history here with your school, payroll, etc., I might (suggest only) that it might still be a good thing for you to attend. Knowledge is power. Plus, it will make it look like you stepped up, whereas other teachers might not. And, you've been very fortunate to have so many wonderful vacation days this summer, that two days doesn't seem like much to forfeit to me. But again, please realize I'm not in your shoes and don't know the particular circumstances behind the request.

Today, hubs and I went to a 480-acre state park (used to be a private estate of a very wealthy family) in northern MA, up near the N.H. border. It was beautiful up there with many lovely country paths. We saw some equestrians, too, and their horses were beautiful. (I love horses. 
) One of the paths we walked took us to the edge of the Merrimack River (a 117-mile river running from NH to MA). It was so pretty to see this gigantic waterway from our height on a hill, up through a grove of trees, along the river banks.
After that, we drove up to Kittery, Maine for a lobster lunch! YUM CITY!!!!!!!!!

Yah, it's fun doing day trips. We've lucked out with no rain for the days we had things planned, as well.
Rest of the week is up in the air--we both have different things to do, so we may just end the week with our usual Friday night out to dinner at our favorite local restaurant. I'm also doing some cleaning projects at home that I never have time to do when I'm working during the week. So I'm taking a leisurely pace this week, but will still get in my lengthy walks at a conservation area near us. So that's good, because I don't get up there when I'm working (I go only on the weekends, or I ride my bike instead).

They bring their fury and desperation from where they come from.Why would tourists be angry? You have some of the best tequila in the world.
I mean, they contribute to their own fury by refusing to stop at red lights, wrong turns, rude, throw trash..etc..

Out of curiosity, I emailed them and asked what the rate was. Probably something outrageous, but I'm kind of tempted...
Id youd ask for a ferrari or a high end BMW then THAT would be expensive

That was the summer I moved to Chicago, and nutso might be conservative. So far, I have seen real feel of 109 for Friday. No AC in the car, so I think I am just going to hibernate that day. Of course, I am assuming that ComEd is calling off the maintenance work that is supposed to have my neighborhood's power shut down from 9 am to 1 pm.
