Okay, I'm doing a rain dance. The air is now in the horrible category. I've had serious breathing issues today. And a sick to my stomach feeling, along with a headache. Which, do I treat first? The upset stomach, so I can take a headache pill. Then the breathing.... Just so you all know, I have a story about Nederland , that's where they keep the "dead" man. Seems his wife put her husband on ice, really, and kept him in the freezer for a year. They celebrate, dead man's day, every year.:rolleyes: Foot note he got a proper burial.
When we were driving up from Denver it was really hazy and yellow. We stepped out in Cheyenne and MAN that smoke smell just clobbers you!! Stay safe!

Yeah...mine feels like...I guess like I've gotten superglue on it. It just feels weird. But I have a question for you, it still hurts when I bump it...does that go away?

Yes, the pain does eventually go away (or, at least mine did). It's been over 25 years now, so I don't remember how long it took, but, it was long enough to remember that it was annoying for a little while, at least...! :bored: ;)
On a positive "note" (you'll see what I did there :D ), I haven't ever felt any pain since in those two fingers after not playing the guitar for a while, and losing my calluses, then starting to play again...!!! :joyfull: :)

I posted this exact same thing to my Facebook, so apologies for the duplicate to those of you who are my Facebook friends (and to the others of you who aren't - why aren't you??) ;)

So, in the impossible things happen every day department, before my health insurance ran out at ICM, I went and had every imaginable test done - blood, ekg, echo-cardiogram (if that's how you spell it) , the dreaded prostate, and several others. Today were my results. I was 100% certain that I was going to go in there and be told I had 17 kinds of cancer, polio, coronary artery disease, a heart that could collapse at any moment, a liver that they were unable to locate, and acne.

Imagine my total shock to find out that I am basically in perfect health. I was like, "errrrrrr......what?! Even the liver?" The doctor laughed and said there were no issues. Apparently he doesn't know about all my trips to wine country.

Anyway, it's all good news, so I guess it's time for a drink, or a drink around the world, like last year. ;)

There's also a study that shows that the less someone knows about a given subject, the more likely that person is to overestimate their competency in it. Like, someone might insist that they are an excellent driver, even though they have limited experience. But once they get more experience, they start to realize how much they didn't know before when they THOUGHT they knew a lot. The more they learn, the more they realize there's a lot more TO learn, and therefore are more likely to say they are limited. They know what they don't know, so to speak. It's called the Dunning Kruger study. I find it fascinating.
Online you can see that everywhere.. mostly called "Backseat expert" or "Computer chair expert".
You can see these daily in sport sites. Where people debate the choices of buying or managing players of teams.

Congrats!!! :)
I had a similar deal a coupla' weeks ago that I've probably already posted about...bloodwork. I was prepared for all kinds of not-so-good news.
Although my blood sugar was up by 2 points, my A1C was down by 2/10ths of a point. Kinda' a wash. And, as per usual, my vitamin D was really low.
Other than that, my cholesterol was down by 50 points from 239 to 179, and kidney, liver, and all other functions were fine.
I'll drink to that, and cheers to you too...!!!!! :joyfull: :)

Congrats on getting your cholesterol down! I just saw the doc today for similar tests. Cholesterol is doing well, I improved my good cholesterol and my A1C has dropped a full point from 7.4 to 6.4 since March. I actually left feeling good!

No way--these aren't "suitcases" you've packed -- those are steamer trunks!! (about 4-5 of those?) o_O

Now, you're very good with planning details, so I'm sure you've reconfirmed your reservation at U-Haul, for a trailer hitch-up to transport the trunks. :p

Believe it or not everything fits inside the car. Going down at least:hilarious:

Reminds me of my 9th grade science teacher. He always drummed into our heads: "The more you know, the more you know you don't know."

You had me until the last three words.;)
Loss is a tough thing, one moment you feel fine and normal and then the next it hits you. Hang in there.
One of the many advantages of being dead on the inside. No fluctuations in emotion.
Not to be gross but how would she do her bathroom business and does she have to sleep like a mummy? o_O
Very carefully!

Enjoy it while you can. I was 67 before I had the fortune of being told that I had something potentially serious beyond hair loss. Since then I am always trying to hear that "We don't understand how, but, you seem to be fine" medical response.
OK gang, I've "Went with the Wind!" for tonight...!!!!!!! :joyfull:

Sweet dreams to one and all of y'all...! ;)
Laterrrrrrrrrrr...!!! :)
"Oh, this old thing? I saw it in the window and just had to have it." Absolutely, the funniest and most unexpected line in the history of TV. I still laugh out loud at the reruns. I believe that I read someplace that particular scene had the longest sustained audience response ever.
I'd rather have high blood pressure than eat tofu though ;) :p
I'll go a step further and say I would rather be dead then eat tofu.:hungover: But, I might be going to the extreme on that one. :joyfull:

Wow that sounds exhausting! It is kind of funny that you had to go to Orlando and then you will be back there. Get lots of rest and enjoy your time out there. Oh and this may seem like an odd question but did you manage to get any popcorn in Chicago?
We went to Orlando on purpose. We COULD have flown directly to Denver, but round trips are generally cheaper than one ways, and if we had gone to Denver first, we'd have had to get 3 one way flights. Amsterdam Denver, Denver Orlando, and Orlando Amsterdam. This way we just did round trips Amsterdam to Orlando, and Orlando to Denver. It's cheaper in the long run, even though it takes more time.
There IS a Garrets stand, and I also saw one for Eli's cheesecake, which I had totally forgotten about! But I think we'll do it on the way back. A nice souvenir...there's so much food in the US that I miss that I'm enjoying while I'm here. I wouldn't be able to eat all of it AND popcorn. So popcorn will wait until after I've gotten my fix of everything here, then I can take it back with me and extend the gluttony for a bit.

@Goofyernmost we have a few day before the trip traditions. First and most important is my mani-pedi appointment first thing in the morning:) While I'm doing that the guys all go to get their hair cut and get the car a bath. After the car bath my dh puts some Rain X stuff on the windsheild. Silly little thing that make the day go faster until it's time to load up the car:joyfull:
You reminded me...,yesterday we took the kids to the City Pool again...it's free and they can swim while I talked to my dad. So we pull into the parking lot and there's a car there that looks like it's had a mudbath....SERIOUSLY dirty. I said to my daughter, "Wow, that car needs a bath!" and she says "I wonder if there's a special pool for cars...a CARPOOL!" :hilarious::inlove: I love her sense of humor.
