I will be traveling with 5 other people. They are a family, but not my family. My friend Annette invited me along with her aunt Patty, and her 3 kids. One of her kids has a birthday exactly one day before mine. It's going to be a great trip. We will be 6 days at WDW Parks. and are going to the first Halloween Party. After WDW, we will spend 2 days in the Universal Parks. I will be 69, and the young birthday boy will be 17.

Wow. That sounds like a really fun vacation, with lots of variety--not to mention, two birthdays! I foresee a lot of cake and ice cream celebrations on your upcoming trip!

ironically.. Avocados are seriously expensive over here.
I dont know if the Narc or companies are on purposely manipulating the offer (like they did with the lemon a few years ago to inflate prices).
Because.. supermarket = 8 USD per kilo of avocado, thats insane. (used to be 2 USD only)
but if you try those local farmer.. they are still cheap. (hence the market manipulation)

I made this joke related to that.

Avocado so expensive.. they are worth more than diamonds and rubies.
Worth of A queen ;)

At my local grocery, we pay anywhere from $1 to $1.50 per avacado. Sometimes, we will see them for .75 each, but they are usually very small, and mostly pit.

So, last night was great. I didn't get pictures of everything, but here are a few. We started with a chicken quesadilla and a plate of fried pickles. Turns out, I like Fried Pickles.

I ordered a Pot O'Gold Burger. White sharp cheddar, bacon, beer braised onion, and house BBQ sauce.

Very good, and very messy. It was a good thing I asked for the BBQ sauce on the side. Hand cut fries.

The restaurant has a balcony, where you can sit and watch the band. Not quite as loud as on the main floor.

And yes, the place is called Durty Nellie's. And yes, I assure you for Jazz Sunday, it is a family venue. The band sounded great! They played a great version of "Summertime", and another one, that you might not recognize from the bit I got. So here it is by a slightly more famous band.

Where was this? Looks good, the burger anyway, I'm not a pickle fan.

Yeah, we're keeping an eye on her. I have a feeling that a lot of the responsibility for keeping track of her is going to fall on me. Not that I really mind; I adore the woman, but still.

Now she's talking about everything she wants to do. She's had to think of my grandfather and his needs first for so long that now she wants to travel. She wants to come to Hilton Head with us in December. We're also talking about going down to SC to visit our family in Charleston. Might see if she wants to drive down a few days early, spend about three days or so in Charleston, and then head over to Hilton Head when my parents come.
So nice of you to take your Grandmother on your vacations. This will mean a lot to her.

I stock up on canned tomatoes for things like soups and stews and have been know to get a few dozen cases at the really good sales. No matter how many fresh tomatoes I buy they never seem to last through the week, my little guy love them for snacking. Yesterday I got 3 pounds of cherry tomatoes and 6 pounds of slicing ones and I hope that's enough
I use the small cherry tomato's as a snack too. So nice to go by the bowl and pop one in my mouth. :hungry:

My WDW trip is just 50 days away. I have done all the important preplanning stuff. Now comes the hard part, which is the waiting. This next trip is special, since I get to spend my birthday at WDW. I haven't done that since 1997, which coincidentally was my first ever trip to WDW.
We spent our anniversary in Disney this year. Fun to be celebrating something in Disney. We got a couple free deserts. And lots of good wishes. I'm 68, and I see you are too, when is your birthday? Mine is May 3.
