Ivory Tower Squabble EST 2011. WINDMILL SURVIVOR
is that a challenge? because I definitively wouldnt try that.. ever.. XD

I mean.. I survived new years.. but I know the 4th can be a completely different animal.

I've done both the 4th and New Years a few times. Different animals. As insane as NYE is and you can't make it about the attractions because that is insanity at best, 4th brings different dynamics. The heat and humidity of the 4th brings stressed and worn guests that NYE doesn't. Tempers are somewhat calmer during the NYE celebration if you're there to usher the New Year in vs attraction time.

Being at Epcot to welcome the new Millennium-well that was beyond insanity.

That really depends on where you live and the building codes in the states. My town has many 100+ structures including homes. So can't take the shaking. Our oldest church and our old city hall and former sheriff station certainly can't take any rock'n.
youd be surprised.
our churches for example, usually handle quakes better than most contemporary buildings.

It was a bit of a challenge we though it sounded fun. The goal was at least one attraction in each park. The Studios and Animal Kingdom were pretty dead. The others a bit of a nuthouse. But we figured on our last day of a two week trip we could handle it. We had been at Disneyland for New Years so we knew it would be packed and not to expect to do any big attractions, although we did have a fast pass for Soarin.
Congrats on mission accomplished. We may try and hit 3 parks our last day seeing AK closes last. We always finish up at EPCOT but seeing AK closes at 11 and we get to sleep in the next day why not

Yeah I understand. My Mom had social hour/weeks happening, lots of people to talk with for a couple of weeks. Now that most of the banking and insurance stuff has been handled or at least initiated she has moved onto throwing my Dads stuff away. Out of the generation of don't throw anything away era, you might need it. So 3/4 is hitting the dumpster and the new or newer stuff to the Salvation Army. When she is done with shovelling out his stuff who knows what she will do.

My Mom always sad for decades the day he died she would pound a for sale sign in the ground. Personally I'd like to see her move into a condo. My folks have not been able to keep up with the outside of the house for a decade already. There are so many bushes and trees and 150 driveway. Down the road about mile one way and the other way about 5 blocks are condos with first floor indoor parking and an elevator. She'd likely love it. I'm curious to see what she'll do.
My mom is in a senior building, nice little apartment she can handle. I don't like the neighborhood but she's been in that general location for forever and knows everybody so it works for her. Everything is also within walking distance or a short bus ride away so she doesn't have to drive if she doesn't feel up to it.:joyfull:

Good Tuesday morning everyone! We had a fun long week-end. We went to the mountains, for a surprise quick trip. We hiked, and played putt putt, rented a boat, shopped in Estes Park, and relaxed. Hubby and I used to do that every year. We decided to try doing this again this year. It was great, but wore us out. I'm not used to hiking at 10,000 ft. I hope everyone had a safe and nice holiday. We spent the 4th all day at the kids house, grilling burgers, and an outdoor picnic. We set off fireworks in the street. Good times.:joyfull:
