I am starting my "ketchup", but I have a little picture to post. My MIL came over Wednesday night to get her pup that we had been dog sitting. She did not come empty handed. @Wrangler-Rick

Somehow I don't see that happening unless you step foot in the park and go right to the next one.
is that a challenge? because I definitively wouldnt try that.. ever.. XD
I mean.. I survived new years.. but I know the 4th can be a completely different animal.
He was 99 and hadn't been doing well for a while, but he had been doing better. They weee talking about him not needing the nursing care at home anymore, and he always expected to keep going. It was both expected and unexpected at the same time.
Mentally preparing for this for a while, I think. But I'm not sure it will really sink in quite yet. Right now, her friends and stepchildren are with her. My aunt is driving up and staying with her this week, my uncle is coming later this week. I think it will really hit her when suddenly everything calms down and regular life resumes and she's in that house all by herself that it will hit.
I am a bit concerned over how she'll handle all of this. She had been talking about moving to SC after all of this. One, she hates the heat. Two, she wants to move closer to my aunt and the grandkids she's raising, but there's no guarantee they won't eventually move back with their parents, nor does my aunt have the time or energy to care for my grandmother and her grandkids, and my cousins have their families as well. Three, she's got a house she can live in until she dies, a social circle up in PA, and my parents and I are only about 45 minutes away. At least for now, she needs to stay put, but we're all worried about what kind of ideas she'll get in her head after the initial shock wears off.
I'm riding my bike this morning to celebrate the 4th! (no traffic out there--LOVE it . . .) Hubby is running a local 5K race this morning. It's a tradition with him on the 4th.
By the way, happy 4th of July, peeps!!![]()
AMEN brother. In my state it IS ILLEGAL, but there are ALWAYS offenders. My poor dog has been traumatized the past two nights with this complete stupidity going on. And they do it late at night, too--for the most part, my bedroom air conditioner (low hum) drowns out the noise so we can sleep for the most part.
Same here, cold and raining but no bbq. It's cold, rainy and windy but someones got a grill going so it smells like MURICA.
Saw this posted by Tikiman - obviously been a problem

Just got back from mom and pops. DWifey, myself, and all three kiddos were there. Plus, 2 of my 3 sibs and all there spouses and kiddos. Lil' sis and her family live in Louisiana, so were not able to make it.
It was also a 25th birthday celebration for oldest DD, as her birthday is July 12th, and she flies out for Ireland first thing tomorrow morning, and won't be flying back with here DH 'til July 31st.
SonILs folks flew out this morning, and he will arrive there on her birthday. They will also be traveling to England and Germany. Maybe a coupla' other European countries.
Anyway, some of today's 4th of July feast...
My cheeseburger, cocktail shrimp and Ro*Tel ceviche, sriracha and honey roasted Brussels sprouts, roasted asparagus, potato salad, 3 bean salad, and Shiner Bock...!
