Somehow I don't see that happening unless you step foot in the park and go right to the next one.

Mission accomplished! We were in all parks before noon.

Started at 8am at animal kingdom, walked to Everest and it was closed so we did tough to be a bug.

Then we caught a bus, showed up when we did, and went to Hollywood Studios. We did Muopets, as we deemed it the most patriotic attraction there and got a whoop i.e pie snack.

Next park magic kingdom and we got there a little before 10 and went to hall of presidents and saw the dapper fans. My husband hear a security guard say the park was at phase one.

We took the monorail to Epcot and entered at 11:53. Boom! Four parks in one day. We spent the afternoon there and it wa majorly hot! But now we are on our way to the Contemporary for a relaxing meal and fireworks later.

is that a challenge? because I definitively wouldnt try that.. ever.. XD

I mean.. I survived new years.. but I know the 4th can be a completely different animal.

It was a bit of a challenge we though it sounded fun. The goal was at least one attraction in each park. The Studios and Animal Kingdom were pretty dead. The others a bit of a nuthouse. But we figured on our last day of a two week trip we could handle it. We had been at Disneyland for New Years so we knew it would be packed and not to expect to do any big attractions, although we did have a fast pass for Soarin.

He was 99 and hadn't been doing well for a while, but he had been doing better. They weee talking about him not needing the nursing care at home anymore, and he always expected to keep going. It was both expected and unexpected at the same time.

Mentally preparing for this for a while, I think. But I'm not sure it will really sink in quite yet. Right now, her friends and stepchildren are with her. My aunt is driving up and staying with her this week, my uncle is coming later this week. I think it will really hit her when suddenly everything calms down and regular life resumes and she's in that house all by herself that it will hit.

I am a bit concerned over how she'll handle all of this. She had been talking about moving to SC after all of this. One, she hates the heat. Two, she wants to move closer to my aunt and the grandkids she's raising, but there's no guarantee they won't eventually move back with their parents, nor does my aunt have the time or energy to care for my grandmother and her grandkids, and my cousins have their families as well. Three, she's got a house she can live in until she dies, a social circle up in PA, and my parents and I are only about 45 minutes away. At least for now, she needs to stay put, but we're all worried about what kind of ideas she'll get in her head after the initial shock wears off.

Yeah I understand. My Mom had social hour/weeks happening, lots of people to talk with for a couple of weeks. Now that most of the banking and insurance stuff has been handled or at least initiated she has moved onto throwing my Dads stuff away. Out of the generation of don't throw anything away era, you might need it. So 3/4 is hitting the dumpster and the new or newer stuff to the Salvation Army. When she is done with shovelling out his stuff who knows what she will do.

My Mom always sad for decades the day he died she would pound a for sale sign in the ground. Personally I'd like to see her move into a condo. My folks have not been able to keep up with the outside of the house for a decade already. There are so many bushes and trees and 150 driveway. Down the road about mile one way and the other way about 5 blocks are condos with first floor indoor parking and an elevator. She'd likely love it. I'm curious to see what she'll do.

I'm riding my bike this morning to celebrate the 4th! (no traffic out there--LOVE it . . .) Hubby is running a local 5K race this morning. It's a tradition with him on the 4th. :)

By the way, happy 4th of July, peeps!! :cat:

Did you have fun riding your bike?

AMEN brother. In my state it IS ILLEGAL, but there are ALWAYS offenders. My poor dog has been traumatized the past two nights with this complete stupidity going on. And they do it late at night, too--for the most part, my bedroom air conditioner (low hum) drowns out the noise so we can sleep for the most part.

Fireworks is illegal here. Walt nor Jethro (Walt's predecessor) never paid any attention to the noise. This year Walt is not liking it. He just wants to be inside.

Just got back from mom and pops. DWifey, myself, and all 3 kiddos were there. Plus, 2 of my 3 sibs and all their spouses and kiddos. Lil' sis and her family live in Louisiana, so were not able to make it.

It was also a 25th birthday celebration for oldest DD, as her birthday is July 12th, and she flies out for Ireland first thing tomorrow morning, and won't be flying back with her DH 'til July 31st.
SonILs folks flew out this morning, and he will arrive there on her birthday. They will also be traveling to England and Germany. Maybe a coupla' other European countries.

Anyway, some of today's 4th of July feast... :)

My cheeseburger, cocktail shrimp and Ro*Tel ceviche, sriracha and honey roasted Brussels sprouts, roasted asparagus, potato salad, 3 bean salad, and Shiner Bock...! :hungry:

And, one of the desserts...

A patriotic angel food cake...! :hungry:
