Ivory Tower Squabble EST 2011. WINDMILL SURVIVOR
Indeed, That purple dinosaur always scared the beejesus out of me (as bad as the teletubbies). It got worse when I seen the animaniacs barney special.. Where the darn dinosaur is invincible!!!

My DD just adored Barney for a couple years. Resulting in her getting a small TV for her room at age 2 with a built in VCR which was a purchase made for MY sanity. My son had one of those combo TV/VCRs when he became addicted to The Turtles. For him it made bedtime much easier for me as he was nocturnal. I'd put him to bed, pop in a 30 minute VHS of Turtles and he usually drifted asleep. Woot.

Teletubbies never hit our household. Where Barney was annoying as heck Teletubbies were just downright Creepity. Besides with cable TV Barney was always on somewhere it seemed. If not she owned every VHS tape as did my DS own all the Turtle VHS tapes. Thanks Grandma.

I was probably about 6 years old (when you know better not to do something but you do it anyway :angelic: ) and we were with my dad at the Masonic Lodge for some big fancy meeting and there were bees on this window. My dad was off mingling and my sister and I were seeing if I could pet a bee. I got stung but we both cried so hard that we got some cake to feel better. After 2 pieces each, we ended up laughing giddily because we got to have sweets in the banquet room before anyone else did. I haven't tried to pet a bee since though! :joyfull:

Oh my!

Well, my last day at ICM is about to happen. After 19 years, I can't deny that I feel like I've been bit by a bus. I know I should concentrate on the new opportunity in front of me, and it may end up being amazing, but at this moment, I think this Ben Folds song sums up exactly the situation happening to me - just replace Mr. Jones with Mr. Thomas, and it is almost exactly the same scenario. Anyone who has ever been the victim of corporate downsizing should be able to relate :( :

More random musings and observations:

The worst part of not being super familiar with a park's layout is not knowing where the bathrooms are.

Speaking of bathrooms, there are too few and they are too small.

Crowd control at WDW is better by a long shot.

DL's Splash Mountain is nowhere near as good as WDW's. You go too fast to look at anything, there are parts where there's nothing to look at, Brer Fox must've had a drink from the fountain of youth in between building this one and the WDW version, and Brer Rabbit just looks pathetic.

Naples in DTD and Via Nappoli are run by the same group, yet Naples is WAY better (albeit still overpriced). Naples has way more other dishes, including an incredible lasagna. They also have the usual overpriced pizza, but the menu was much more extensive.

If seeing fireworks during wildfire season, plan for more than one night. If conditions are too breezy, they won't show the fireworks due to the increased fire risk. They've been cancelled at least twice since we've been here.

We did Grizzly River Run. We planned to do it and head straight back to the room. I wore a bathing suit under my shorts along with a rash guard. I was the driest person on the raft. I went back and jumped in the pool just to cool off.

Portable power packs are your friends.

Say what you will about MBs; they make the entrance process MUCH faster.

I don't know about WDW, but here, the metal detectors are not just for show. We've also seen police dogs around the main entrances.

Luigi's is just about the cutest ride ever.

The seats on Jumpin' Jellyfish are oddly shaped. They have a piece in the middle of the seat that those who have a Y chromosome should be careful of. :in pain::cyclops:

For this trip, I am my family's reigning champion of TSM and Astro Blasters.

Speaking of Astro Blasters, while the effects are better than Space Ranger Spin, there are too few targets in each room.

My niece (my Sis' DD) has been to the hospital multiple times via ambulance after epi pen for apple induced respiratory distress. This apple thing my niece, my DD and our @StarWarsGirl has developed only recently years is puzzling. My niece doesn't even show a reaction to apples on the allergy tests. She is done with her first year of college now and over the summer will visit a specialist. I'm interested to see what the experts my Sis has tracked down have to say as my DD mirrors her. So far, knock wood niece has been fine since the end of April which was the last ambulance trip.

The other niece I mentioned over the last few days is my BIL 29 year old DD and she has made me a Great Aunt with her little baby. Such a cutie. :inlove:
I'm wondering if it's the pesticides used on commercial apples or GMO apples. Either way I'd avoid them just to be safe
