That's wonderful to hear, that your town/cities were o.k.. From the video I saw on the national news, some areas were drowning in rain, and I think a few were under tornado watches. (You have to realize that when my limited brain hears about storms in Texas, I assume it's just one plot of land only -- as if there aren't miles upon miles of different areas down there! HA! )

Hahaaa...!
Yep, we're no Alaska, but, we take up a bit of room (approx. 268,820 square miles ;)) in the contiguous 48. :)

Awesome. It is never too early to think about college. I am just about finished up with the 10th Grade and headed down the home stretch with my last 2 years of high school.

Nice way to look at those 2nd 2 years. I'm a Mom that has had 2 kids graduate college this decade. Junior year is a free for all. Classes matter, grades matter, the fun of college tours--boy we did have some good times with that. My kids did the timing of SATs as @StarWarsGirl suggested a great suggestion.

Best of luck on your finals!

Welcome to the magical world of productive society ;)

I'm a fan of internships that pay. The free labor thing is annoying. Before that it was community service, more free labor. Education costs keep rising and yet venues for earning are diminishing. My DS did an internship with a large business group in Chicago and got paid, little but at least met his expenses and a bit more than that but something. My DD bestie is doing a year long required internship-no pay and out of town. I hope this trend goes away.

My DD on the other hand went to a University that carried some weight. She looked at internships vs moving up to a managers level position where she had worked previously and went with that. She ultimately landed a job after graduation at a University, not her first choice of Universities but a great starting salary.

So I hope you're ready for a very, very, very, very, very, very, very brief Memorial Day weekend trip to Long Island wine country, via the magical phone of Buddy Thomas. If not, scroll down really really really fast and you'll miss the whole thing. ;)

Phil joined the wine club there last time, so we got free tastes, which they served in these crazy towers of wine glasses. Here I am with five hundred twenty five thousand six hundred glasses of wine:

And here is the Phil monster hiding behind his tower because I might have said the word "Disney":

Err, okay great onto Lenz Winery:

I think I might have mentioned to Phil that I want to go back to Disney, so this happened:

Errrr, fine. So in that case, I'll just go outside and play in the vines:

It wont be moved elsewhere?

Neither I, I always imagined they were tied to the names in your account and nothing else.

Me too! I sent @ajrwdwgirl photo to my DD and she said yep, how do you think I got my nickname I go by? Duh. Never even thought that.
My DD and I go by names that are a portion of our legal names. I never called her by her given name, ever. So I guess the magic band just seemed normal.

I decides to go way back to page 3756 and I really love the feedback you guys gave me during my first stay at the hospital 4 months ago. Thanks for all the love and care you guys gave me especially @MOXOMUMD @song and @figmentfan423. It was a pretty bizarre experience after learning about what was happening with my stomach. But 4 months after that event I'm feeling much better. Good thing I brought my android to the hospital since it was the only way I had a chance to contact you guys and read the feedback. This might be another good reason for why I'm a member of this site.
