All those who have been to Disney lately...do you see a lot more foreigners? It seems to me they are the ones that are making attendance go higher. Of course it helps, when you give free dining plan and discounts (cheaper dollar) to Europeans and not Americans.

To be fair, it also doesn't die and turn brown when massive amounts of people walk on it. It doesn't create mud to drag around the park and it fits the need for the shows and parades. I don't understand why being "real" is such an issue while we sit and stare at a plastic castle. Personally, I don't remember the hub being more aesthetically pleasing and functional then it is now. Just a difference of opinion, I guess.

And an opinion that we share. It looks great to us, and it's much easier to get around during parade or fireworks times. Why people are fixated on the fact that they used artificial grass is just totally confusing to us.

Not trying to change the way either one of you think about this -- I respect opinions different from mine. Please allow me a few moments, however, to explain why the artificial grass, etc. makes me sad.

One thing that always separated MK from (non-Disney) theme parks, was the attractive and relaxing, old-time "park" atmosphere. It's never been a place where only the rides and shows mattered. Rather, the trees, birds, flowers, natural grass and park benches, gave the park a welcoming feel. That was as important to me back in 1985 during my first visit to MK, as it is now.

So when some of the natural park features started to be removed over the past year or so (along with many park benches), it started to chip away at some of the ambiance for me.

Hello, humans!. When we got back to the room last night, it was a shower and then bed. We took off early this morning, and just came back for a break! Hubby has only taken a couple pictures today and they have not been downloaded. We went to the Magic Kingdom and went from ride to ride non stop. It was super busy today. Probably few pictures tomorrow. The first free day we will take pictures. Magic Kingdom was super clean, no trash cans overflowing, we saw people sweeping up popcorn and things. The women's bathrooms, were more of the same, but just a little better.
Still too many strollers and ecv's. I got hit by a guy with a stroller so hard he almost knocked me to the ground. He was going around near the tunnel. Hubby caught me, and all is well. He gave me a dirty look. The rest of the family apologized for him as they were behind and saw what he did. His teenage son, touched me on the shoulder and asked if I was okay. I said yes, all is good. Then he went up to his dad and took the stroller away from him. I get the feeling that poor family has seen a lot of his aggression. I really felt sorry for the family. The father, no so much!;) We had a great day so far! We are taking the boat from Saratoga, to Disney Springs, and eat at the Earl of Sandwich. I see I'm going to have a lot of ketchup to do when I get back. Thanks to all for the well wishes.

Oh my. Sorry to hear that you got hit by a stroller. On the other hand, it was nice to read that the man's family was sympathetic and supportive of you, after the mishap.

I hope the rest of your vacation goes well, and I'm happy to hear that you and your family made it down there safely. :)

I think it depends upon the time of year. I know that some foreign groups travel more during specific months. When I was there last week, I noticed some foreigners here and there, but they were in the minority.
