Ivory Tower Squabble EST 2011. WINDMILL SURVIVOR
Hello, humans!. When we got back to the room last night, it was a shower and then bed. We took off early this morning, and just came back for a break! Hubby has only taken a couple pictures today and they have not been downloaded. We went to the Magic Kingdom and went from ride to ride non stop. It was super busy today. Probably few pictures tomorrow. The first free day we will take pictures. Magic Kingdom was super clean, no trash cans overflowing, we saw people sweeping up popcorn and things. The women's bathrooms, were more of the same, but just a little better.
Still too many strollers and ecv's. I got hit by a guy with a stroller so hard he almost knocked me to the ground. He was going around near the tunnel. Hubby caught me, and all is well. He gave me a dirty look. The rest of the family apologized for him as they were behind and saw what he did. His teenage son, touched me on the shoulder and asked if I was okay. I said yes, all is good. Then he went up to his dad and took the stroller away from him. I get the feeling that poor family has seen a lot of his aggression. I really felt sorry for the family. The father, no so much!;) We had a great day so far! We are taking the boat from Saratoga, to Disney Springs, and eat at the Earl of Sandwich. I see I'm going to have a lot of ketchup to do when I get back. Thanks to all for the well wishes.

Glad you are having fun. Sorry for the hit and run with the stroller. Sadly I saw my Dad do that with my DD stroller. We took stroller duty away from him. Ultimately by the end we deemed him unfit for WDW trips for the future. We took my Mom but sometimes we kids have to draw the line. We left him home. Swear it was role reversal on steroids.

Help me. I can't remember standing in the grass to see fireworks or mud being tracked through the hub from that. Where was the grass area for viewing?
There wasnt grass as far I remember, the planters were pretty big. And I dont think people invaded the greens (including the rose garden) to see wishes. They just spilled to mainstreet and the areas surrounding the restaurants.

All those who have been to Disney lately...do you see a lot more foreigners? It seems to me they are the ones that are making attendance go higher. Of course it helps, when you give free dining plan and discounts (cheaper dollar) to Europeans and not Americans.

Yep. Depending on which way you are looking at it. The dollar here is stronger as of late but indeed some of the perks are greater to encourage. If a deluxe room is cheaper and they are empty to encourage some travel, they will do it same with dining. But add in airfare costs and exchange rate for some it isn't quite the bargin it was a few years ago. Still good revenue. The southern continents are a questionable source. Much like ours and the corrections we endured are likely to see a drop overall in percentage of travelers from that region. When my kids were tiny it was the Asian travelers in masses. That brought a very different clash of cultural behaviors that I had yet to encounter. It seems to always be an educational experience one way or the other.

@figmentfan423 , will you go to your farmer's market this weekend? There aren't any of those yet around where I live; it's still too early in the season up here. I'm thinking I'll go to the grocery store tomorrow, to buy some corn, tomatoes, Bermuda onion, mild cheddar cheese, and some burgers, too, for grilling. Always enjoy the first cookout of the season during the Memorial Day weekend. :) :hungry: Oh, do you like potato salad? I'm kinda on the fence about it this morning and debating whether to include that.

Of course I'm going tomorrow to the farm market:joyfull: I try never to miss going when it's open as I always find better quality fruits and veggies at a better price than the supermarket:joyfull: It's funny you ask about potato salad as I'm most likely going to make some either Sunday or Monday. It's a bit carb heavy for me but my boys can eat it by the tub:eek: My recipe starts with 5 pounds of potatoes, sometimes 10 :eek::eek: Tomorrow I plan on grilling when I get back from the pool, another summer is here ritual going to opening day at the pool:joyfull:

Five to ten pounds of spuds??!!! Yikes. You cook for an army over there! If I make it, it's just maybe 3-4 potatoes at the most, and that gives us leftover for about 2 more meals (side dish, that is).

Wish I could find chives. I like chives in potato salad. Too early for those too, I guess. (When I was a kid, the neighbor next to our house used to grow chives in the backyard. My brothers and I used to sneak over there and eat some, straight from the garden, compliments of the neighbor. Although, the neighbor didn't have a clue who kept eating all the chives . .. :cautious: :p )
