How can you be thinking of spring now? We've just started winter. :) Let's rejoice! :joyfull:

This new laptop is a touch screen. Can you feel me reaching though and pinching you real hard?

Speaking of which, are you doing any better than I am with your new computer? My mentor, DD isn't familiar with
8 and she was trying to figure out something for me. I use to her getting stuff first and me lagging behind in the tech world.

yikes, the limits in the US must be huge.
We always get 1,000 USD to 9,000 USD at most.
anything above 9,000 USD is considered "corporate" over here.. and only platinum cards offer these levels

Yeah it really varies a great deal from person to person. I have a fear of debt. I worked very hard to pay a mortgage off quickly. 12 years and it was ours. Long enough. During the recession the banks cut credit limits for many without notice for those who had high credit limits. I get credit card offers in the mail daily both for me and also for my business so they must be loosening up again. During the recession I got very few for a couple of years. :)

the only days I lived the same, was when I had to wake up at 5:00 am to go to University and then go to work to return at 12:00 in the night from my restaurant job.

I'm naturally nocturnal so I could easily learn again to stay up late and sleep in. I fall out of sync easily so I tend to set a alarm even if I don't need to get up, like tomorrow. A few days of sleeping in would take me a week to recover from so I generally get up by sunrise especially in the winter.

So, the past few days, I've asked a bunch of people (both male and female, in the age range of 23 - 70), if they were going to attend any big parties of celebrations for New Year's Eve. Out of maybe 25 people that I asked, only one was going to a party. Everyone else was staying home, including us. We get Chinese food take-out and bring it home, and watch tv.

Does anyone attend big festivities for New Year's Eve anymore? Just curious . . .

Years ago we started staying home with the kids. We spent a chunk in Disney though when they were younger so we fell out of going out. My DD still isn't a party person. My son has always rung the new year in well. He said a whole group of them have tickets to The House of Blues hard ticket NYE thing. Freak'n expensive but he said the band is good.

Disney's release schedule for next year. No Muppets but I never liked the movies anyway. Though Disney really doesn't have any new material, it's all Star Wars, Pixar and Marvel and live action from animated films. Granted all films together have a good chance of reaching $4 billion.

Jan. 23 — Lucasfilm’s Strange Magic
Feb. 20 — McFarland, USA
March 13 – Cinderella
April 17 -– Monkey Kingdom
May 1 -– Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron
May 22 -– Tomorrowland
June 19 – Pixar’s Inside Out
July 17 – Marvel’s Ant–Man
Oct 9 — The Jungle Book
Oct. 16 – Dreamwork’s Untitled Steven Spielberg Cold War Spy Thriller
Nov. 25 -– Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur
Dec. 18 -– Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens
I hope they dont rush these movies too much. Some of them seem to have been announced just recently and just one year to release them?
pffff..

considreing how crowded a lot of new years events are.. We usually pass these big gatherings and just stay with family in small parties.

you can always install the program named "Classic shell".
Its free and it transforms Windows 8 to behave like Windows 7.

I wonder if the credit card company charges a % for every swipe.
Yes sir, they surely do. That's really how, besides interest, they make the bulk of their money. Usage fees from the seller and interest fees from the user. That's why many places do not take American Express. They charge the vendor a higher rate then the other credit companies do.

Sold a vest, a sports shirt, and 3 scarves. The fact that it's 42 degrees here mighta' had a little to do with the scarves. ;)

I have the 5 AM news on in the background, and the weatherman just said that Dallas is 33 this morning! I figure your city is probably close enough that your temperature must be in about the same range. We're down to about 15 outside this morning. Nice and cool. :p

Oh I'm fine with the new computer. I just continue to do the exact same things I did with the other one--WDW Magic, emailng friends, and playing on the internet. That's it! Easy peasey!! (Oh, I should mention it's Windows 7, not 8. I wouldn't have a clue what to do with Windows 8!!)
