I'll try and take a picture for you today if I remember. My DH goes to work in the dark and comes home in the dark. At least he has a window at work for those rare occasions the sun comes out lately.

Yep, my office windows sure help. Unfortunately, the trees started blockin' my view down the valley years ago.
Many times, I've thought about takin' a chain saw back there... :cautious:

:D ;) :)

These use to work most of the time. 2 years ago when we took out the 100+ year old pines front and back  I had the tree guys give the 60 year old Locus Tree a hair cut. Could be reached with the telescope above the power and phone lines. It was the first time we had to bring in an outsider. This summer we lost an Ash tree on the easement in the front of the property. Not amused with those little tree eat'n buggers.

So, the past few days, I've asked a bunch of people (both male and female, in the age range of 23 - 70), if they were going to attend any big parties of celebrations for New Year's Eve. Out of maybe 25 people that I asked, only one was going to a party. Everyone else was staying home, including us. We get Chinese food take-out and bring it home, and watch tv.

Does anyone attend big festivities for New Year's Eve anymore? Just curious . . .

We're doin' nuttin', and we're good with that. We always stay up for the ringing in of the new year, though. :)

New Year's Day is actually a much bigger celebration for us. We'll be headin' over to my folks for Pops 82nd b-day and the annual devouring of the ducks...!!! :joyfull: :hungry: :)

My sister and I when we were little named the maple tree that was planted in our yard. The trees name is Scottie.

Wings, as in with Brian, his brother, Helen and Roy?
Can't remember which brother it was (the older, stable one), but oh my gosh, I used to think he was so hot!

If you're talking about a different show, ignore the above comment.
No, you got the right show and indeed he is hot. Hot enough to make a snowman.

Disney's release schedule for next year. No Muppets but I never liked the movies anyway. Though Disney really doesn't have any new material, it's all Star Wars, Pixar and Marvel and live action from animated films. Granted all films together have a good chance of reaching $4 billion.

Jan. 23 — Lucasfilm’s Strange Magic
Feb. 20 — McFarland, USA
March 13 – Cinderella
April 17 -– Monkey Kingdom
May 1 -– Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron
May 22 -– Tomorrowland
June 19 – Pixar’s Inside Out
July 17 – Marvel’s Ant–Man
Oct 9 — The Jungle Book
Oct. 16 – Dreamwork’s Untitled Steven Spielberg Cold War Spy Thriller
Nov. 25 -– Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur
Dec. 18 -– Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens
When I took my brother to see Big Hero Six, there was a kid, he looked about five, sitting down the row from us. After the preview of Tomorrowland, he says, fairly loudly, "I am NOT going to see that!" I don't think he wanted to see it...:joyfull:

My dog phobia is debilitating. I can hear the jingle of dog tags a block away.
It would almost be comedic if it weren't so real.

And yeah, I'll pet any kitty we encounter while out on our evening walks.
That would be my brother. He also used to be petrified of birds.

The restaurant where we ate this evening always has cats there. I believe they are part of a trap, neuter, return program, and the restaurant feeds them and looks after them. Anyway, I made friends with one of the kitties tonight. It would not let anyone else pet it. Based on when I was petting him (IDK the gender, so I'll guess male), he seemed to be older, and he seemed to not see well and have some arthritis. He was okay as long as I talked to him, but he didn't seem to see me, and only seemed okay with me when I started talking to him. I petted him for a good ten minutes and had him purring pretty hard. Sweet guy.

I don't watch the ball drop on NY. I don't like Ryan Seacrest, I don't like the music so I just watch Doctor Who.

I'm very picky on my music :p. I just bought my first CD in years on itunes. I've gotten other CD's but those where gifts.

I'm pretty picky too. I enjoy a wide variety of music however the artists I enjoy, well I'm pretty discriminating.

I don't care for Seacrest either but I understand them pulling him on with Dick Clark. I had mixed emotions watching Dick after his stroke. I admired his progress and determination and yet it was so difficult to watch and hear. I had the same issues with Roger Ebert, happy for his fight but I did have difficulties with his computerized voice the last years. I was torn, advocate for people with disabilities and yet the type of deliveries to those like me with hearing disabilities, it was near impossible to follow. Never did come to terms myself on which trump'd what there.

Hahaaa...!
Nope, that one didn't get me, either.
I remember one time when we were drivin' up the coast of NoCal when I was a kiddo. Pop said "Hey y'all. We're comin' up on Bodega Bay where 'The Birds' was filmed." I remember sayin' "Cool!" and thinkin' how neat that was.:)

I was quite small when I saw it while being in the room while my Mom watched it. Beyond creeped me out. I've seen it many times since, knowing how hokey it is by today's standards, my recall still goes back to my first memories. Much like Wizard of Oz, likely saw that one when I was too young too.

I love the smell of the gardening area. I still remember the first carrots I pulled out of the ground when I was a little girl.

Me too. From the new year till the time I can finally dig a whole and plop a plant in it I am looking at every garden section. Last April I went to F&G at Disney and just before that went to Chicago for their F&G to take the edge off after our horrible winter last year. My Dad always planted Tomatoes and other odds and ends. Me multiple veggie gardens plus container veggies too. Now I also have way too many flowers too. I'm doing my part to save those honey bees.
