The Chit Chat Chit Chat Thread

Greetings, all -- just got back last night from WDW. Had a great time! :joyfull: I won't do a trip report, but I will share snippets (over the next few days) of some highlights and miscellaneous things.

I'll also go back to where I left off in this thread (before I left on vacation), and attempt to do "ketchup" today.

First a comment to @Gabe1 -- after seeing the national news reports of excessive security check lines for O'Hare, I assumed it wouldn't be much better for my airport in Boston, or Orlando's. Happy to say that I was given TSA Preclear for BOTH of my flights!!! I sailed through both in about 8 minutes.

For everyone: my review of Ample Hills Creamery (new ice cream shop on the Boardwalk, that just opened on Sunday). This is a nice shop, next to ESPN. They have odd sounding names of ice cream (you have to read the descriptions, because the actual names tell you nothing ;) ). So I had a (one-scoop) dish of Sally Sells Seashells, which was an orange flavored ice cream with a few chunks of chocolate (that had a hint of salt in the chocolate, but it wasn't overbearing). Cost with tax was $6.17.

The ice cream was very tasty, and yes, I do recommend it ( @figmentfan423 , you asked about Ample C. for your family's upcoming trip, and I'd say to go there). Note: I wouldn't say it was any better than Ben & Jerry's for example, but it was a high quality ice cream. Hence, I wouldn't recommend anyone make a special trip to go there, unless they were already over in the Boardwalk area. My only concern is the heat in Florida. There is no seating inside the shop, so I'd recommend getting the ice cream in a cup, versus a cone. If you get a cone, you'll have melting ice cream running down your hand in no time.
I'm glad you arrived home safely, and had a great time. I can't wait to hear about your trip.

You have everything planned and you itinerary ready?>
DD did our planning, and I have a copy. I don't know where we will be eating for dinner. We each got one choice of restaurants. I pick BJ's outside of the park. Daughter picked Deluxe Burger, Hubby picked Earl of Sandwich. The rest will be choices, picked by son in law, and the grand sons. That will be a fun surprise!

I still blame the "selfie" and "jack as*" generation guest.
People do stupid things just to show themselves doing it via youtube or photos/instagram.
I guess my point is that multiply that one J/A by whatever percentage you want and you will come up with some pretty high numbers when taken against the number of people that are there in any one day. We need to imagine the kind of nightmare that creates for custodial personnel to try and keep up with. They should be in the bathrooms cleaning up after those slobs, but, instead they have to make their way to Peter Pan to clean up over a different slob. I'm not saying for a second that they shouldn't respond to it as quickly as possible, but, it seems like we are thinking that there should be a "clean up" person assigned to every single person in the park, to pick up after them the moment anyone decides to be a J/A and make sure that no one ever sees it.

To anyone who has used RCL in the past. How do you see the schedule of the broadway style shows?
The page of the broadway shows in the RCL site only gives up tiny information and then throws you to "find a cruise".
Id love to know what hours they have.

I know, I find their web sight to be unhelpful. It didn't used to be that way. You could go on and look at each boat, and find all the dining options. Now, they list all the dining options, for all the boats. You have a hard time finding information, individual to each ship. Hubby has found some information from blog sights. He types in RCL, and follow with Oasis restaurants. The headliner shows, are not revealed until you get to the ships. There are usually two evening times for shows.
