All cruise lines have upcharge restaurants, but you don't have to use them. They are optional. I used what what was included in my cruise cost because the idea of having already paid for meals and then paying more on top of that for food that comes from the same kitchen or at least a similar one, seems like a ripoff, and mostly some type of status symbol event. The food in the dining rooms or buffets were just as good as far as I was concerned. I'm not an easy guy to get extra money from.
We did the same, when it was hubby and I. The dining room is very nice. And you get your choice from a couple options. The staff is wonderful. If you don't like what you are given, you can ask for something else, and they will bring it to you, no charge. We didn't do that, but I saw people who did.

I dont think you understood my question.
I know what are upcharge restaurants, I already seen this on Disney.
My issue is with the OASIS class, there are restaurants that CHANGE.
Like being free for lunch and then upcharge in the dinner.. or ones that seem to be half and half (aka most dishes are free and others are upcharge). How do you know exactly which dish is upcharged?
Never heard of it being that way, which doesn't mean anything, I've been on two cruises in my life, so what I know would be limited. It doesn't seem like an inviting system unless the cruise fees are ridiculously low (which I doubt). But, if they do that, I'm sure that they have to inform people of the rules and expectations as well as provide options for those that do not want to pay extra.

I also found interesting that Royal Caribbean tried the rotating dinning like Disney and they said they failed badly that they had to revert to traditional style.
They used to post the menu outside the restaurant. Before you enter, you will know if the restaurant charges. You get a "ship newspaper" in your room each day. It tells the day's activities, and information about the individual restaurants, and if there is a charge. It is less complicated than looks like. You are free to roam around and see what is available, and what interests you. We did go to one upcharge restaurant. Sister wanted to do that. Personally, I think the evening meals in the dining room, was just as good.

I don't think I'd want to be either kid. Either way, you don't really get a childhood. It was completely wrong to imprison the Japanese citizens...they were completely innocent. But I don't think it was much fun for ANY of the kids. My mom talked about air raid drills where you had to black out the windows and go to designated places in your house, depending on where you were when the sirens went off, and you could be separated from the rest of your family for hours in the dark...she was only a small child. That would be completely terrifying. Or to be told that you might be accidentally shot if you happened to be playing outside when someone made an escape from a camp and the guards came after them. Whether you are in the camp or out of it, that's just no way to grow up.
Amen.

Have a great day. We are going to pick up last minute things for the trip. 13 and counting....
I don't want to burst your bubble, but, 13 days is not even close to last minute. Perhaps picking something up on the way to the airport could be called that... but, two weeks ahead, not so much! ;):joyfull:
that when you say 13 you mean days and not hours. If you meant hours, then I will concede the last minute thing.

You're probably right, but, I don't care. I am going to hang onto my identity for as long as I can. It's what makes me still wanting to be alive. If that means an occasional face plant, then so be it, however, I like to think that I am smart enough to know when enough is to much and avoid that situation. I will then reluctantly, but, without complaint do what I need to do to keep me alive and a burden to my children and the rest of society as well. ;)

Ha! You crack me up.

I guess I don't understand why people terrorized children into believing that the Americans in camps were a threat. Both of my parents were kids during all that and they both had issues with the depression in very different ways however they didn't live in fear of the American Citizens that by birth happened to be Japanese that got tossed into camps. More kids were harmed or died working on farms than at the hands of Camp people. Our school board and administration had to deal with all that adult rhetoric hoisted on their kids in the aftermath of 9/11. It was a small demographic but it was annoying to watch some adults wig out on natural born citizens here just because they could. Mind boggling.

Today I'm going to enjoy some fun in the sun. After a week+ of clouds and rain I need it!
Boy did the skies open up here overnight. Water water everywhere. We have Lake Gabe down by the garage again this morning. My DD told me this morning the river has gone over near her apartment. Joy Joy. Upside our home is dry. It is cloudy and damp at the moment.
