Ivory Tower Squabble EST 2011. WINDMILL SURVIVOR
Good morning everyone. We are at the 14 day mark. I'm starting my packing. And getting very excited. Lots of new snacks to check out. This is going to be a more relaxing trip. On one of our free days, we are taking the boat to Port Orleans. There is a a powered pasty I want to try.:hungry:

I really really like the boat trip to and from the shopping district. I love staying at either Port Orleans resort.

All cruise lines have upcharge restaurants, but you don't have to use them. They are optional.
I dont think you understood my question.
I know what are upcharge restaurants, I already seen this on Disney.
My issue is with the OASIS class, there are restaurants that CHANGE.
Like being free for lunch and then upcharge in the dinner.. or ones that seem to be half and half (aka most dishes are free and others are upcharge). How do you know exactly which dish is upcharged?

I also found interesting that Royal Caribbean tried the rotating dinning like Disney and they said they failed badly that they had to revert to traditional style.

I can only imagine. Just know if you ever do travel by plane there are special procedures in place that you would qualify for. They can be arranged in advance with TSA Cares. Also would qualify for pre-boarding.
Thank you. my dh and I are considering flying for our just us trip as it will be a shorter trip. Seeing it will be just us we'll have to deal with the lines. first flight out will be the way to go.

Thank you it looks lovely:hungry::hungry::hungry: Which remind me time to start thinking about booking Behind the Seeds. The boys are booking it for my dh as his father's day gift.

That's my favorite! With a group size like yours, it is probably best to book ahead, if you can. I just walk up "day of" and (as a solo guest) I've always been able to select any of the times they had.available for the tour. If you have the Birnbaum's book, don't forget the coupon in the back--I think it knocks off $2.00 of the full $20 (adult rate).

I'm also wondering with Soarin under renovations (I think it's still under renovations, right?) if that might send more people over to the Seeds desk, as something else to do in The Land.

Soarin will be open before our trip. YEA! Seeing it's only my dh and myself we have a decent shot at a walk up but better safe than sorry and a confirmation number will be rally nice in his card.

Yeah, my Mom's best friend was placed in a Japanese Camp it wasn't good memories. She was born in the USA and her family lost everything. They believed they were safer in the camp than out within their own country though they were not treated well in the camps either. I think I would have prefered to be a kid that couldn't play outside than be one of the kids that got shuffled into a Japanese camp. Interesting how two children's memories of the camps was very different.
I don't think I'd want to be either kid. Either way, you don't really get a childhood. It was completely wrong to imprison the Japanese citizens...they were completely innocent. But I don't think it was much fun for ANY of the kids. My mom talked about air raid drills where you had to black out the windows and go to designated places in your house, depending on where you were when the sirens went off, and you could be separated from the rest of your family for hours in the dark...she was only a small child. That would be completely terrifying. Or to be told that you might be accidentally shot if you happened to be playing outside when someone made an escape from a camp and the guards came after them. Whether you are in the camp or out of it, that's just no way to grow up.

So, my mother and I are seriously considering going on the Oasis of the Seas in September 3/10 from Fort Laurendale.

Any got any opinions of the Oasis?
It kinda gets me confused because half the restaurants are upcharge, some are half and half, and then theres like 3 deluxe eating options.
We went on Oasis of the Seas. It has been refurbished in the last two years. It is a wonderful ship. Lots to do, or not do. We liked it so much, we went on a two week cruise the next year. It only seems small upon boarding. After a couple hours, everyone disperse's to different areas of the ship. We loved walking around the walking, jogging track. I can put a couple pictures of the ship, if you are interested.

I understand. Still pride with some can cause some real harm. Two hours through a security line can cause swelling in many older passengers legs. Then getting on an airplane with aggravated circulation problems can be very risky. I'd rather see someone with medical issues use an airport wheelchair than have medical issues while in flight. My first career job was special services for a major airline. It wasn't rare to see an older passenger go splat on the jetway sadly. There is wisdom in knowing the difference in what you can overcome and the reality of what should not be attempted. Pride tends to cloud good judgement at times.
You're probably right, but, I don't care. I am going to hang onto my identity for as long as I can. It's what makes me still wanting to be alive. If that means an occasional face plant, then so be it, however, I like to think that I am smart enough to know when enough is to much and avoid that situation. I will then reluctantly, but, without complaint do what I need to do to keep me alive and a burden to my children and the rest of society as well. ;)
