Congrats to her! I do hope she has a very nice and sunny summer off!
Thanks. We're starting it with our 10-day trip to wdw and uni. My son, who lives in LA, is meeting us there. We only see him once a year. We used to do the beach, but he's gotten hooked on wdw and uni now. He said that uni out there doesn't compare to the Orlando one. He used to like their's until they got rid of the movie set area. And, I think he got burned out, year before last, when he worked there for the HHN nights.

We're making our way over to UNI for the first time this year. Any tips would be most welcome. My boys love Potter and we have a week. I hope all the new things are at least at a soft open for your trip.

We didn't go there until two years ago. But, once we did, we loved it. We bought ap's after the first trip, and now we go at least twice as year. It's now a part of every wdw trip.
WWOHP is magical. Make sure and get a park to park ticket so you can do the train. Make sure and do it both ways as it's different. I like both, but the King's Cross to Hogsmeade way is the best.
I love how you can take the train or walk between parks with no problem. I also like that they have plenty of benches to sit and rest.
We like to eat at Hard Rock Cafe and Finnigan's. We're trying Confisco this time, as they have vegan options.
Getting there at opening is a good idea. When we get there at opening, we jump on the train at King's Cross and go straight to FJ when we arrive in Hogsmead. When we've done this, there was no wait at FJ. We do Hogsmeade, then head back to Diagon Alley. The next day, we go straight to Gringotts first. Don't do single rider on Gringotts. The queue is as good as the ride. Make sure and find Knockturn Alley. It looks like a dead end, but you turn left and go down a dark alley and you're in Knockturn Alley. There's not a lot there, but it's really neat. When you hear the dragon start to make a lot of noise, get ready because that's when he breathes fire.
Spiderman, Men in Black, and ET are musts for me. I don't do the thrill rides, but my daughter loves them. I always have a place to sit and wait for her.
Another thing I really like about uni is the garage parking and City Walk.
Sorry if this is too much info.

Thank you and there's no such thing as too much info when vacation planning. MY dh and I have APs for the trip and my boys have 14 day unlimited which will give them some time in W&W while my dh and I do something else. We'll be a bit WP spent after doing 4 days in the Disney ones. Yea we won't be paying for parking and getting a discount on food doesn't hurt either.

One other thing. They occasionally allow ap's in for their early hour. They did it when we were there in December, and they did it last September.

Do you know what the base for the ice cream is? I can't do soy. I also don't do rice, and I'm lactose intolerant which makes being vegetarian hard. I've tried coconut milk based ice cream, but I don't care for it. The almond based ones are okay. My daughter has moved on to being vegan, but she loves almond and coconut-based products so it's easier for her.
I'm sorry you have all those issues. Life today can be difficult with dairy problems, manufacture's should stop putting cheese, milk, calcium in all their products. You almost have to be a chemist to read all the label's. Hubby just had a calcium kidney stone removed. The cheap kind of calcium, causes stones. Of course, being vegan you already know that. I'm learning a lot from @figmentfan423. She does vegan very well. I hope you can find something that you like. I'm not a picky eater, so I went from real ice cream to almond milk pretty easy.

Mickey Bar on left.... no contest!

I remember reading that @betty rose likes to put faces to names so here, like your making us choose one Ice Cream thingy over another... yet another challenge:
Me with my Girls during our very first trip to WDW in 1983...

And this would be the same threesome in December 2016....

I think that it is obvious that my girls have changed quite a lot, where I have stayed exactly the same. It's in the genes!

Thank you, I'll have to see if I have a photo of me back in the day. I doubt it, so much lost in the Kansas City flood. I like both photo's, and you haven't changed at all.

I'm sorry I forgot to answer your question, it is soy based. Very challenging to find something without those ingredients. Keep looking though: I've noticed more new things are coming out every year.

My daughter just called to let me know she just finished her last final of this semester. She said that she way over-studied. But, it's better to be over prepared than under prepared. She's taking the summer off. It will be her first real break in three years. She starts her senior year in the fall.
Congrats, to your daughter. She deserves a summer off. I hope she has a really great time.

I'm cracking up at DD. We tried out the "topsy tail" we bought last week and her hair looks so cute, so we were trying to pick out earrings that would really set it off. She put in some dangly stars and I said I really liked them...Love them actually. Husband dearest started singing Tim McGraw's " I like it. I love it. I want some more of it" so I joined and DD ran to her room to put some headphones on. Apparently she's not a country music fan! LOL Or maybe it's because my husband can't hold a tune in a bushel basket.
your dd is smart. country music is dangerous ;)

I'm reading your information too. We are thinking of skipping Disney this fall for UNI. I have never been there either. What restaurants do you like at City Walk, we are planning to eat there in June, at least a couple times. Thanks for any suggestions you might have.
