Such a pretty area. Do you have katawba wine? The spelling may be wrong. It's made in Indiana, so good . But all wines don't agree with me. I wish they did. I loved this wine. It's made from the Katawba Grape. A very nice desert wine, for those who can have wine.

I'm so glad that you can be medicated easily. When, I had my first stone, and didn't know what was happening I was in pain and thought I could tough it out. So I had pain, for a couple days ( I never go to the Dr. until it's horrible). Hubby started to go to work, something told him to come home. I was lying in pain at that moment. He said I have to go to the dr. and I didn't object at that point. I went to the Dr. and the stone was at the opening of the kidney, and couldn't pass urine. To make a long story short, the Dr. said I was filled with poison, no wonder I couldn't think clearly. They gave me toradol and antibiotics to stabilize me. They said I was near death. The lithotrypsy was scheduled four days later. As toradol causes your blood to thin. I was put on a strong antibiotic, to kill the infection in my body. I had lipotryphsy, and got well. I go to the urologist to monitor how many stones I have brewing, each year, as does all my family, I hope my information will keep you from making the mistake I made. You were certainly more observant than I was, with my first stone. I wish I had taken action earlier, but my mind was mush, by the time I realized I was in trouble. Since then, I have a urologist watching me and the family. I hope you find a good urologist. Please go every year and have an x-ray. That way they can take care of a stone before it becomes to big, or in the wrong place. :inlove:
I didn't exactly do anything early. It started to bother me on Monday afternoon and I didn't get to the ER until 1 am Thursday morning. Mine was (and still is) right were it enters the bladder. They said if it had moved another 8th inch it would have hit the bladder and been gone. But, it didn't. It blocked the door, so to speak and the pain was from the tubes and kidney backing up. :in pain: They said that my kidney was almost twice the size it should have been. :jawdrop: I guess that explains the aching. I didn't have a history or even a family history of them to any large degree. This is my first in 67+ years. If I don't have another one for the next 67 years I will probably be fine with it. As far as seeing a Doctor, since my Prostate Cancer diagnosis I've spent more time in Urology then I have spent with my grandchildren. :joyfull: I have another biopsy for that in July.

What was the size of your stone? Hubby was only told to not lift for a couple days. He has a morphine type pill, he hates drugs, and took one and said it made him loopy, so he will deal with the pain, and discomfort. His choice. I took my meds, although having lipotrypsy is more painful than going up and taking one out. They pretty much blast your kidney so you have spasms for the first week after. I guess everyone is different, I hope they find out what it is made of. Maybe I should have taken hubby to the ER and we wouldn't have had to deal with this so long. I'm sorry you are having stones, I 'm glad the pain is okay for your. Maybe, hubby and I are wimps!
I didn't answer you about the size. Mine is 5mm wide and 10mm long. Pretty big for a stone. They were amazed that it actually got out of my kidney, but, told me I was very lucky that it did.

Not sure, I don't think I've ever heard of that. But, as you all know, I'm a beer guy and certainly no wine connoisseur. I'll ask next time, though...! :)

I agree that if you are in the door while they are still open, you should get service. I can see how it would be annoying to have someone walk in right at closing though, so I suppose I understand their announcement at 4:30 but perhaps they should put up a sign or something. The road tests are by appointment only as they should be. I know I get annoyed when I'm about to leave work and have a parent show up to talk to me for a "quick second" and it takes a long time. I really wish they would call or email first before just showing up.

Our district has a built in 30 minutes after dismissal for student or parent availability to professional staff. Appointments or prior contact no longer necessary as we had 'some' staff members that would not respond that day to avoid contact.

yeah, except its not about commodities.. its about the purchasing power of our currency.
Which went from 8 Pesos Per USD to 18.50 pesos per USD in a span of less than 5 years.
Including a 30% drop in the last 6 months (from 12 to 18).
Also, theres some darn problems in other things.
Last president fought hard to remove the narc power on certain areas that kept products hostage or with inflated prices (our little lemon productions for example).
With this president, the control is back to those groups and the price skyrocketed again. :banghead:
and We're talking about 200 to 500% price hikes, not small ones D:

Sorry. I won't debate this here but I do grow weary of the US being the default blame for the world's problems when individual countries have corruption of their own. Likely why we avoid politics on the thread, it never goes well.

Sounds like fun. I'm resting up this afternoon, as hubby and I are chaperoning Prom tonight.

So kind of you. I have a long laundry list of volunteering in our community. I avoided with great vigilance chaperoning school events like prom and dances along with field trips. I remember laughing hysterically (we were good friends) when the lead teacher asked me, a board member to chaperone a trip to WDC for a week, was not happening.
