Well Friends, I am off to my daughters for Christmas dinner, gift opening and family bonding. I am also going to attempt a small project today. My X is going to be there and I want to get a picture of our whole family together. I think it would be a good thing for the grandkids to have that connection to their grandparents even if they aren't together anymore. It might be a challenge to get her to agree, but, I'm going to try. Wish me luck.

I think it's fascinating to see what started out as two in 1972 to what it is today with three generations that now consist of 10. It really is mind boggling if you think about it. I know there are families that are a lot bigger, but, this is my little group and I want them to all have good memories.

Merry Christmas to you, @Goofyernmost and I hope today is full of fun for you and your family. I really like your photo project, and think it's a lovely gesture. Fingers crossed for you that you get the photo you want. :)

I came back from church around 11:00 this morning, and turned on the Disney parade. I was less than enthused; it wasn't what I had hoped for. Wasn't interested in the headliners, but what I disliked the most was the big 2-hour commercial, where they showed all the properties, cruise lines, etc. (not to mention too much of Frozen . . .). Silly me, I thought I was going to see a nice Christmas parade down Main Street in WDW and also Disneyland as well. Maybe the first hour had that? Again, I only saw it from 11=12 and wasn't impressed at all. :(
Last years was mostly the same regarding commercialization.

I agree!
(Shoot! I tried to quote @JenniferS and @MinnieM123 posts about @Goofyernmost but I'm using my Mom's tablet instead of mine so it didn't work.) Anyhoo, I agree with the gals that it is a lovely idea and I hope you are successful!

Would the last week of may be better or would not matter? Is this for all of New Mexico or just around the western side?
May is less hot than July. The great thing about dry heat is that you get under shade and you get a lot more relief than in humidity. Thunderstorms are less common in May since July is our "monsoon" season. Layers in clothing is the best way to go.
My family recommended you come in September to Albuquerque for our International Balloon Fiesta. People love it.

What a lovely sentiment. I hope your ex agrees to a photo. Your children and grandchildren deserve it.
Merry Christmas @Goofyernmost.

Sadly, I was not successful in my project, however, my daughter and myself came up with the solution. She had a business for a while creating professional web pages so she has a pretty sophisticated program to photo-shop almost anything. We got a photo of everyone in a group with a space left for her individual photo which was just part of the regular Christmas photo's and like magic we will all be in the same picture. Ya gotta love technology sometimes. I have to admit that it is a little scary how we can now create a photograph of a situation that, in reality, didn't happen.

Apparently the theme of this years Christmas was nursing homes and killing people. One might think that's is depressing conversation and it is. But it was funny at the same time. And cousin bashing!!!

My cousin wore this Christmas Eve. And it was horrid. She cannot wear this. She is way too big for this. She always wears clothes 5 times too small. I have a picture I showed my friend and she had a good laugh.

Oh dear.

Yesterday while my DD and I were chilling at Starbucks a man late 20ish, decent shape came in bicycle tights. No bike shorts over his tights. So icky.

There were many references in the news the past few days about Chicago O'hare. I heard something ridiculous like 4 million passengers going through there?! Yikes. I can only imagine the traffic on the roads around the airport, as those much has been a nightmare, too. (Only once I connected via O'hare on the way out to Vegas. It was a nice sunny day, clear sky, and our plane was still # 20 in line for take-off!!! :jawdrop:)

I'm glad you made it safely to your destination yesterday. Have a wonderful Christmas Day today, and watch out for Walt; he'll take advantage of the frenetic holiday atmosphere and people around, etc., to stealthily commit crimes of opportunity . . . His soulmate, Jack, has already started . . .

Yep they are soulmates. Walt was getting very impatient as I was grouping presents this morning. My DS was in charge of Walts stash. During the grouping of presents 2 of DDs fell on floor from coffee table. He snarfed them up so fast and was off. He and we had a wonderful morning. We had our traditional game wars. Then we had Maggiano's at home for dinner.

Christmas at my Moms was very nice last night. The snow never came that was called for. Woot! Ohare is just nutty.
My niece was on the ground for 45 minutes the other day waiting for a gate. She left yesterday just fine though and made it home and was onto another plane in the morning to Miami and then off to Equador for their adventure into the Amazon.

Maybe he was for the fetish? I know some people love "tight suits" or "Zentai" suits.
Dont ask how I know.. thats one of the bad things of being a IT on the internet.
When researching stuff.. you get to see the darkside of the internet.. mostly unwillingly.

I didn't see it last year, or even for a few years. I do recall nicer shows years ago, though. The problem is the time that it goes on tv, which is usually the time I'm out. I saw that it was 2 hours, so that's how I was able to catch the second half yesterday. (Actually, what I really enjoyed even more in years past, was their Easter parade, and they cut that out a few years ago.)

It's been the same way for years. It's basically one big Disney ad. Which is probably why my family enjoys it. We enjoy seeing the various Disney locations. Plus, we watch long Disney commercials...like the planning DVDs...just for the heck of it.

Good to hear that someone enjoyed it. I wouldn't mind watching a planning DVD. I was just disappointed yesterday that there wasn't much of a more traditional parade, with lots of fun floats, dancing and singing down Main Street, etc.

Whew! That's great news. Good thing your daughter is so talented and can create this nice picture for you. I'm happy that you will get your full family picture after all ! ;)

Also I hope you all had a great christmas!

My mom's turkey unfortunately, turned bad ( I think they sold her a bad turkey).
Anyway, we "countered" the issue with some insanely delicious Bacalao a la Vizcaina.
So In general, this Christmas was ok (so bad not many people in as other years)

Bummer that your mom's turkey didn't turn out so well. I clicked on the link and saw the picture of the substitution, and it looked delicious! Although I don't read Spanish, I think I still got the gist of some of the ingredients. I'm glad that your family had a wonderful meal. Perhaps not having as many guests as usual may have been a blessing in disguise, as I'm sure your mom had planned on a big turkey (in addition to other food) for the dinner) to feed a big crowd. When the turkey could not be served, at least she had enough other food available in her refrigerator and kitchen cabinets, to still make a wonderful meal for all. :)
