My thoughts exactly, I love Julie Andrew's voice, and the spirit of DVan D. Such a wonderful musical.
Me too!!! We watched a movie the other day that had a reference to Mary Poppins and DD says "That's a really long word" so we started singing the song. She didn't realize it was a real "thing". I've apparently been remiss in my parenting...she NEEDS to see Mary Poppins!!

I love Sir Elton, he's one I've never seen in person:(
He's great!! I ALMOST got to meet him and I am kicking myself in the tushie that we left the back stage. My brother got free tickets and back stage passes when Elton came to Laramie for a Matthew Shepard benefit concert. My brother was a friend of Matthew's and had been with him earlier in the evening on the night he was murdered and so he had been speaking at vigils and rallies, etc. So he got tickets and brought me to the concert and we were waiting in the VIP room they had set up, but the concert was supposed to be already started and he hadn't shown up in the room yet, so we decided to go take our seats and try again after the show. We heard he came by just after we left, and he didn't go back after the show. :( I DID get to meet Peter from Peter, Paul, and Mary briefly when I was counter-protesting Fred Phelps in Laramie. Peter, Paul and Mary had had a show the night before and were on the way out of town and Peter came by to personally thank all the "Angels" (we were dressed as Angels) for standing up to the WBC. It was really sweet.

OK gang, Princess 5K tutu day time...!!!!! :joyfull: ;)

So, starting out with the best of intentions to train, to eat better, to cut back on the beer, etc., for this whole thing, the reality of it is, it didn't quite go that way... :cautious: :D ;)
I gained a lot of the weight I had lost previous to the holidays back during the holidays and only lost about a third of it before the "race". I did some walking, but, not nearly as much as I should have. And, although I cut back on the beer, it wasn't by a whole lot, etc....
That being said, I finished fine, walking the entire course, and felt awesome for having participated, but, I definitely want to do better next year. I want to be able to run most or all of it next year. It was the first time I've participated in an event like this, and now I get it...!!! :)

Anyway, without further ado, and as promised...tutus.....!!!!!!! :joyfull:

As I mentioned in a previous post, there were corrals A-F. Best I can determine, there were over 10,000 participants in just this one event.
Oldest DD, SonIL, and youngest DD were assigned to A, myself to E, and DS and DWifey to F. Once assigned, you can't step up, but, you can step down. So, I stepped down to F so I could be with DWifey and DS. As I also mentioned before, we know how to fix this for next year. ;)
As a result, SonIL had already crossed the finish line while they were just queueing up our corral for our official start...!!! :hilarious:
Also, DS and DWifey blew me away and finished about 15 mins. ahead of me... ;)

Anyway, right after I finished, I joined them all in the runners retreat tent for breakfast. :hungry:

Mission accomplished...!!!
Congratulations! LOVE the tutus! Looks like a great experience!!

Pretty sure he suffers from franchise fatigue thanks to those annoying ultra fanboys of starwars.
Reminds me when some of the Star Trek actors were harassed as well, and even had to put rules when Patrick and Benedict participated in a Shakespearean show in England.
The rule was, no fan would attend in star trek attire, nor ask about star trek to either patrick or benedict.
Remember when William Shatner kinda said it all on Saturday Night Live. I found this You Tube, not the best quality, but, it gives you the gist of what it was about and perhaps how these guy and girls that act for a living can be somewhat bewildered by the type of life it can take on.

But what the pompous fail to realize is that some thoughts are best unspoken. Unspoken helps the film you are paid handsomely to be employed by but it also helps your future reputation as being vested vs disinterested in.
Well considering how the movie concluded, I don't think that Harrison is really terribly concerned about his chances of returning to another Star Wars movie.

The thing is when referencing Harrison's part in the "Celebration" is that I didn't notice any difference in his delivery then he usually has when being himself. Every talk show he has ever been on his personality is evident. He doesn't get hyper about anything to do with his own work. He down plays it and, I feel, does sincerely see it as his job, not his calling. He has never come across, to me, as pompous, in fact, exactly the opposite. That is either very good acting on his part or just the way he is. He is tremendously humorous in a subdued manner (what we used to call a "dry sense of humor). So, during the show I never really read any deep lack of caring or overreacted exuberance. I saw him as himself, doing his job and being pretty cool about it.

I want to read the book. I heard it's really good, but I actually have NO idea what it's about.
In a nut shell it is vintage Steven King and his incredible imagination. In short, a guy stumbles into a time travel situation and during the trips back has a chance to prevent the assassination of John Kennedy. A very complex story line that we all know what they outcome has to be, yet it is an incredible journey with many twists and turns, just trying to find out how Mr. King manages to get to the ending. The ending of the story is, of course, predicable, but, how the story all works together to get there is an absolute marvel and creates a very interesting read. BTW, I am not now nor have I ever been a Steven King fan, but, he sure showed his talent in this one. It does require a voluntary suspension of disbelief though! However, well worth the read.

Love it. First car built using common core math.

Hate common core. Hate hate hate. :banghead:
It's the dumbest thing I've seen in a long time. I wonder what idiot came up with this? No wonder our kids are getting a curious education. Makes no sense to me. Love the picture, so funny, and sad at the same time.
