I can honestly say that based on where I went to high school, the ones causing major problems are the minority. And it's also not like flipping a switch for the 21 year olds anyway.

I jut want them to make up their minds. Either allow 18 year olds to stay there...or don't charge the extra adult fee until they're 21.

Age is just swishy. It has always been swishy even at Disney. 10+ you are paying as much as an adult at WDW for passes to parks, dessert parties, dining plan, mini golf and children's meals so we should be thankful that Disney doesn't charge for an extra person in a room at after age nine.

If Disney started charging for extra 10+ in their resort rooms they could put a dent in the quarterly earnings report deficit. ;)

My FIL always bought a big bag of of rock salt and poured it around the foundation of the house he swore it worked. For us we buy Raid for ants and spray around the foundation and it seems to work for the summer month's. I've also heard that if you plant spearmint plants around the foundation, the ants will leave, they hate the smell of spearmint. I tried that and it worked. Spearmint can be an invasive plant, so you may have to pull it out where you don't want it. We don't have a long enough growing season for it to become an invasive plant. I cut it off as it grows and put around the foundation. Now, for us it easier to spray Raid where we see them coming in. Outside of course.
Same for mice. They hate mint.

Good luck with the warmer temperatures, we actually hit 73 yesterday. I didn't celebrate as the winds were so strong, it blew over some semi trucks, and they had to close the interstate for several hours. It wasn't safe to drive in such crosswinds.

Our light rail and some of the regular rail are down due to winds. Several Buildings in Chicago high rises closed to shattering windows and flying debris. Last I heard several hours ago 108,000 places without power, internet and cable out for too many to count. Not good. It should be slightly calming as the evening moves on but it is still gusting and howling. My neighbor lost a major branch out of his tree. It just missed his house by inches. I went out and looked at where it landed boy was it close. Then I questioned my sanity. I was standing under that
tree.

If your parents were to reserve the room, would they charge you the extra adult price because you are over 18?
Yup. We looked into that as well for the summer.
Did you ask to speak to a manager and explain or have one of your parents talk to them? Sometimes, they might make an exception if a parent would vouch for you or you explain the situation and it's not just random teens. Kind of ridiculous since at 18 you can vote, you are emancipated, you can get married, and you can serve your country...they SHOULD consider you an adult. I can see both sides, but I wonder if they would make an exception if you talked to them personally.
Didn't talk to them personally. Disney ended up being way cheaper anyway ($79 per night at Pop with my AP discount, plus no need to buy a pass for me, and my friend added two days to her 7 day pass for $25), and my parents didn't want us to have an issue while down there. I can understand it more for various situations. For instance, I understand why 18 year olds can't rent a car; they're new drivers and more likely to end up in an accident statistically (although my understanding is that a few do for an extra fee, depending on state laws). But yes, I agree; if you can be drafted and die in a war, then you are an adult. The point will be moot for me come April, but still.

I understand, we all likely do as we have been there. There are all sorts of legal age discriminations.

Adult beverages is 21

Most rental companies wont rent a car or moving truck to under 25 and if they do they plainly state at a higher rate because their fault or not young drivers are not necessarily defensive drivers and are more likely to be involved in more accidents than more seasoned drivers are.

Car insurance is higher for those 25 and under. Many are written (like my folks) that nobody under 26 can drive their cars.

Some states won't let you have a CDL license until you are 21

In Illinois-requires drivers age 75 and older to renew their licenses in person and both a vision test and road test for drivers ages 75. drivers ages 81 through 86 to renew their license every two years, and those 87 and older to renew annually.

There are a couple states where you can't get married without permission without consent until 19 or 21. Some states have higher minimum ages for males and others only curtail females at younger ages.

Most branches of the military have a cap on how old you can be to enlist, under 40 for some areas and much younger for other areas.

Most police academies require you be 21 by graduation.

Can't be a house of rep here until you are 25 or be president until 35 years old

Can't go to a Casino here anyhow until your 21

I'm sure there are more but Uni isn't the only one and the majority are set into place by our legislators so I guessing it is legal to discriminate.
According to my dad, it normally would be an iffy area, but it's definite discrimination because of charging the extra adult fee for if you're over 18 to stay with your parents.

I just vacuum them up...there are usually BUNCHES of them at one time, all traveling in a line, so I get out the vacuum and hoover them all up and then 15 minutes later, there are more, and I hoover those up, and so on. I've been told they won't cross chalk, so if you find out where they are coming in, you put chalk in front of their entrance. I don't know where they come in in my house, and I don't have a pet, so I do use traps, too. Google it, maybe? There have to be non-toxic traps or ways to get rid of them!
Ants usually follow the water lines into the house. They are small enough to get through openings that you don't even see. Or cracks around window or doors! BTW, so do many other bugs that otherwise shouldn't be in the house. This is true especially if your house is located on sandy soil, but, they aren't fussy, the will find a way in no matter what.

Never heard of ghost ants. Are they like termites?
sorta, they are more like normal ants, but they are just.. transparent.
You can feed them colored stuff and they will change color accordingly. Wiki says its name is Tapinoma melanocephalum (or Boticaria)
on the good side.. they eat Aedes Aegypti larvae (the mosquito that causes dengue, fevers and the new sika virus) and those of Rhodnius Prolixus (a bed bug type insect that transfers the Chagas illness)

@Gabe1 Do you have any wind damage?

I see lots of branches down, stuff is blown all over. I had to actually hunt Wally's outdoor bed down. But would you believe me if I said after I got pelted in the face by debris I just hunkered down inside? My thought was if it is damaged or broken it still will be tomorrow, it is dangerous out there.

This is from the Woodfield Mall area in Illinois:

The Schaumburg Village Board on Tuesday approved an ordinance that prohibits local hotels and motels from renting to anyone under 21 and that holds responsible any adults who rent the rooms if police find underage drinking going on there.
-*-*-*
Florida State Statutes do not set a specific age but allows for Hotels to set their own minimum age policies which ranges from 18-25 in Florida. During Spring Break some hotels state in their policy that the minimum age is increased from 21 to 25 to avoid Spring Break college students due to underaged drinking on premises.
