You pretty much nailed it. Just demonstrated how ridiculous politics have become. While I'd miss my oven if I lived by you at times like this I kinda envy the distance you have from all the nonsense from supposedly the best candidates within our borders. Lordie.
I still wonder why everyone blame Obama, when its clear the congress (with its 4% approval rate) is the culprit in most of these issues.
Kinda reminds me of my country as well.. The politicians are a disease.

We were lucky; just started getting flurries about an hour ago. We had sun, wind and cold again today. It looked pretty bad south of us - we saw the three big pile-ups on the expressways. Not good.

The snow isn't heavy but the plow came down and the road and the road is shiny. Cars are smooshing all over the place.

Being an elected public official I tend to agree with the politician thing. Few vote their hearts and many just play follow the leader. It took me a while to learn to pick my battles and grind my heels in when it was an issue I felt strongly about. I had that learning curve-being I had to at least sway 3 other people to come to my way of thinking to get something accomplished. I don't think the majority blame our President, it is certainly turned into a US vs THEM leadership by all involved. We are going through the same thing in our State Government too. It is budget building time and we don't even have a budget for last year. Craziness on all sides. It is frustrating to just watch all sides act so ridiculous. These are not stupid people and yet they seem to all have lost their marbles.

Sorry for not being clear D:

During the GOP debate, Trump called others candidates and the republican controlled congress to block any Obama candidate to succeed Scalia. Because they will most likely be more "Liberal" than conservative.
First time I see all candidates agree on something.
Thats what I got from part of it I seen on newssites.

Yep, you interpreted that correctly. Scalia was a feisty dude. While I didn't always agree with his opinions dang he wasn't wishy washy. He was a law professor in Chicago and was tapped to move on up because of his well thought out opinions if one agreed with his rational or not. Can't say I ever heard anything come out of his mouth that was intelligent. Might have made me bang my head into a wall but he was a sharp individual.

Hahaaa...!
I'll still take my hot, beautiful, Texas...not only do we have indoor plumbing and A/C down here, we also have refrigerators and freezers, too :D. Plus, it has been very rare that I've ever had to make a TSSFFBR through ice or snow...! ;)

I'm fickle. I am not overly amused with HOT. But I can cope with HOT by going into A/C for a bit. This deep cold and snow with ice, blowing winds that freeze my aging bones, going into a heated home just doesn't seem to work so well. There are a couple areas of Cali that I doesn't get too HOT and never cold. I'd be really happy there. Sadly I'd never be able to afford it. Reality Check.

Yes, way back in the day when I used to go backpacking, rappelling, and rock climbing in the New Mexican Rockies, are some of my favorite memories. Such a calming and reflective time for me, and at the same time, we were also kinda' wild...I'll just blame that on the thin oxygen and alcohol at altitude...! :D ;) :)

Yeah, I'd love to hear those calming reflective thin oxygen alcohol induced memories sometime. Sure the memories are crystal clear.

Partly cloudy and a high of 75 here today.
I can't wait for 125 F this summer...!!!!! :joyfull:

The worst I've endured I believe anyhow was 106 up here the week that 700+ people died. From my understanding it wasn't as much the temperature that got them, it was the dew point which was as high as it could get. We had a huge party that weekend and we bought an air conditioner window unit to supplement the central air. During the party the heat broke a few hours in (everyone was indoors) and I tried to prod people outdoors in the evening when the temps broke and dropped like 25 degrees in a matter of an hour. When I finally got people to trust me to step outside nobody wanted to go back in again. A week of H*ll on earth I'll not forget.

I'm afraid that with the 1800's attitude of South Carolina the top of my head would blow off in a matter of days. Warmth or not, which, btw, is a not at the moment.
We went to Disney the very, very long way around last trip to avoid a tropical storm going up 95 and we made 2 stops in South Carolina. One was for gas and that turned out to be a bad tank and one was for salad fixings (I was hungry) I stopped at was supposed to be a gourmet supermarket LOL my local dump of a store has a better selection and I never go to that place unless I'm in the neighborhood and need only one or 2 items.!!!! That and the road conditions are why I'm not a fan of that state.

One of my best friends went home from work not feeling well and decided to sleep it off. He passed (at age 27) in his sleep that day from a heart murmur. It happens.
Sympathy like. One of my friends died of a heart attack in the waiting room at the doctor's office waiting to be seen because he felt a bit "off". He was 35. He was on vacation in Canada, and because he wasn't a patient of that doctor, he had to wait until they could fit him in....he was tired and didn't feel well, but didn't know how serious it was, so he didn't go to the ER. It definitely happens.
