It's all about geography, actually. DWifey wants nothing to do with cold (nor do I, and have never lived in cold climes ) weather EVER again. She's a US Air Force brat. She was born in Minot ND, and also lived in Germany, and Wyoming and Montana while her pop was with SAC. Beautiful country, but, it's also beautiful here, and a heckuva' lot warmer...!

Try moving to "South" Carolina.

I'm afraid that with the 1800's attitude of South Carolina the top of my head would blow off in a matter of days. Warmth or not, which, btw, is a not at the moment.

Yep, I've had a few bad ones 'round here over the years, but, luckily, they're very few and far between.

Hope the Florida thing becomes a realized dream, soon.

Yes, way back in the day when I used to go backpacking, rappelling, and rock climbing in the New Mexican Rockies, are some of my favorite memories. Such a calming and reflective time for me, and at the same time, we were also kinda' wild...I'll just blame that on the thin oxygen and alcohol at altitude...!

Yes, it seems that I remember when I was stationed in Denver, it seems that 3.2 beer (I think that was what it was called... 45 years ago, give me a break) could get you mighty giggly in a very short time. Ah, the memories... White Room by the "Cream" cover band with a pitcher of the watered down Core's was a fun evening.

We were lucky; just started getting flurries about an hour ago. We had sun, wind and cold again today. It looked pretty bad south of us - we saw the three big pile-ups on the expressways. Not good.

Earthquakes always are a frightening thing. Scalia on the other hand that is just too creepity. A 79 year old goes to sleep early saying he isn't feeling well. He doesn't get up to go hunting with the buddies and they just go without him and found later dead. Who doesn't check in on someone who is ill before they leave. Then again Scalia was a headstrong man, maybe they didn't know how checking on him would go over with him.

I seen some of the videos of the quake.. even if it was a low level quake, the shaking was pretty strong (albeit very short)

During the GOP debate, Trump called others candidates and the republican controlled congress to block any Obama candidate to succeed Scalia. Because they will most likely be more "Liberal" than conservative.
First time I see all candidates agree on something.
Thats what I got from part of it I seen on newssites.
