When Walt was a puppy I could move him. He weighs more than I do. If he is asleep there is no budging him.

I'm not a dog person and I'm perfectly happy with cats, but I think if I ever got a dog, it would have to be a small dog. Well, at least smaller than me.

I only have 2 go to authors. Lee Child and Terry Pratchett :bookworm:
:(

My go to author is dead and way to young to have been gone. Erma Bombeck. She made me laugh and still does. I roll towards humor with movies too.

When your mother asks, 'Do you want a piece of advice?' it is a mere formality. It doesn't matter if you answer yes or no. You're going to get it anyway.

Never go to a doctor whose office plants have died.

My kids always perceived the bathroom as a place where you wait it out until all the groceries are unloaded from the car.

I haven't trusted polls since I read that 62% of women had affairs during their lunch hour. I've never met a woman in my life who would give up lunch for sex.

Onion rings in the car cushions do not improve with time.

All of us have moments in our lives that test our courage. Taking children into a house with a white carpet is one of them.

Yeah, I miss Erma Bombeck.

No snow here but the temperature is -2F and the wind chill is -25F. They say frostbite will set in at 20 minutes... Yep, that little rodent has got to go!!!!

I think our windchill went to -22 last night. This morning I did what I could via drive throughs. It was still better this afternoon when I actually had to get out of the car and polish off shopping chores. Everything is crowded today because #1 Valentines Day tomorrow and #2 they are saying it is going to SNOW again.

Today I saw cars from Michigan, Indiana and Wisconsin with packed snow stuck on various parts of their vehicles. We sure dodged a storm last week only about 3 inches of snow. I'm having a hard time getting past the hype on the news to know what to really expect in inches over the next few days.

It is a lovely place in the spring and summer. Fall too I guess, but fall reminds me of the upcoming winter (and going back to work), so I am biased against Fall. Someday I will move somewhere that has flowers in bloom year 'round. If only I could convince hubby that people need ministers in Florida too...

There are 1279 Churches in Orlando. He can have his pick.

But, there's beer up here, too. And, you wouldn't have to do a beer "run" (like down there), because the temperatures up here are so brisk, that the beer will stay nice and frosty for you, even just strolling home. (No need for running home to keep the beer cold, like down there in hot Texas.)

Just lookin' out for your best interests, good buddy! ;)

Can't tell you how many times Beer was placed on back porch over the winter to get real chilled and then forgotten as the night went on.
I'd let the Pup out in the morning and bottle caps shot off and slushy beer frozen atop the bottles. :hilarious:

That's my kind of reading. I used to read a lot of political books, but I'm so over those. I do love true history though. I wish my eyes were better, I used to read a couple books a week, and would stay up in the early morning hours to finish a book. Now, my eyes get tired after a couple hours. And now I'm into Murder Mysteries. They are easy to figure out after a few chapters, and I go on to the end to see if I'm correct. If I am, I put the book away, if not..I go back to see how the plot changed.

Have you tried reading on a Kindle? Generally easier on eyes and they are backlit

I think there's just something about being out there in nature, in the Mountains, with the echo and all the nature sounds like stream water, or leaves rustling, birds...and the combination of that and the music...it was so cleansing and peaceful. And the retreats were lovely because it was just for us...we weren't performing and there was no pressure...it was just pure enjoyment of the music and of making something special together. I imagine the church services would have a similar feeling...sharing something with others, but not on a huge scale...just sharing that special moment and knowing there's nothing riding on it. Nothing depends on that moment going perfectly.

I love nature. Just so there is a hotel at the end of the day.
