My younger ds has the manual memorized and has the countdown to permit day figured out to the hour:eek::eek::eek:
That is so much like I was. I took my drivers test on my 16th birthday. I had been looking forward to it for at least 3 years. Passed it the first time through and I have been on the road ever since that day. I figure after 51 years of driving, many of those professionally, I have accumulated a couple million miles total. Just a close estimated guess. I don't want to jinks it, but, that 51 years with no accidents, not even ones that weren't my fault. None... zero!
I did have to take my road test for my Commercial Drivers license twice due to a lapse in concentration when I looked down and saw the the bus I was taking my test on, was about 15 miles per hour over the speed limit. Unfortunately, the guy doing the testing noticed it as well. The second time I stayed 5 miles per hour under all the posted limits. He even commented on it. I said, that's not against the law is it? He just laughed, said no and handed me my license.

I also was in a rush to get my license, but in my case I probably should have gotten more hours under my belt before taking the test. Not that I want to promote the Asian stereotype, but I was not a confident driver back then. :p

Although after college I started driving way too fast and got many speeding tickets. So once I got tired of going to traffic school, I started driving more sensibly. I may have "bumped" into a few cars, but I have never gotten in a serious accident either.

Back to the room. Pictures for today. We had no fast passes and did 6 rides today. It was a good day for us. I didn't get my margarita today, probably tomorrow as it's supposed to rain and turn cooler.
From the ferry boat.

That's how my DD is.

My DS pulled his the day he turned 16. He had been looking at a Cherry Cutlas that his GrandDad gave him sitting in the driveway for a couple weeks already. Not the same to drive it with Mom.

DD she was 16 and a month when she got hers on NYE. She wasn't ready. She didn't have to take a road test just pull the license. We agreed with her she'd go get it but she needed more practice and she knew she wasn't ready to go solo, just too nervous, not comfortable yet. The laws were changing as of January 1st and it was going to be a more involved to get a licence and the new licence brought so many more restrictions. So NYE she got it and then was driving by late Spring on her own.

Even that sounds like so much fun! I'd love to got to MNSSHP but with my boys schedules it's not happening anytime soon:(

Same here. We've been to MVMCP once before in Dec. of '08 (our 20th wedding anniversary trip - just DWifey and myself), but, never MNSSHP, which I hear is even better.
My b-day is Oct. 20th, so I'll be lobbyin' for a MNSSHP b-day trip in the next few years...! :)

I got my license at 16 too on the first try, I probably should have failed the test. I couldn't parallel park, drove straight in a turn lane, and merged into traffic when I shouldn't have. I think the guy, an older guy felt sorry for me or something. I remember that there was a WWII plane show at the airport so he had me pull over by the planes and we looked at them for awhile and he told me all about the planes. Oh well, I am a decent driver now. I still have never parallel parked.

Nope. Working on the older one, although he is very resistant.

As I've mentioned before, DS, with his Asperger's and autism issues, doesn't have a DL, and may never have one, although he really wants one. We'll see...
But, both DDs were on it like ugly on me...! :D ;)
They both started driving lessons ASAP, and same with getting their permits and provisional licenses. They were both chomppin' at the bit, and are great drivers...! :)
