The car I cried over losing was a 68 Mustang. At least I wasn't in the car at the time. I should have realized it was bad news when my mom took me up the street to the local bar and bought me a double shot and told me to drink up!

What a cool Mom! My Mom is a blunt blurter. Not a fan of that. Plus I get to it, my Mom when relaying bad news or what could have been bad leaves you hanging as she starts out with I have bad news. Even when it has worked out OK she tells a drama story that scares the heck out of you and you find out it really as bad as she has panic'd it to be. Me I start out with this ends well then tell the story or I get to it quickly.

I said it before, I was so sad when my Mustang went up to the Pearly Gates. So sad that my Sister sent flowers from the florist.

She's handling best she can, but I really think getting her into therapy will help, so she can talk to someone not personally involved and feel safe to be able to say whatever she wants, knowing that it can be confidential. But Mr. Donkey thinks her talking about the divorce will stress her out even more, which means needing to get a court order because he won't agree with the therapist that she should talk about the divorce.:mad::mad::mad:

But yes, on the plus side, lots of evidence demonstrating his unreasonable, controlling attitude/behavior!
So sorry you're going through the carp.

Yes, your DD needs to be in therapy. She will come out much less unscathed.

Wonder if your ex is worried about what may come out during the therapy sessions. Because thinking that she shouldn't talk about it means that he is worried what will come out if she talks and that he's trying to cover something up.

Just read through your medial history of the day, sorry. :( About 5 years ago I took my husband to the ER with the same type of thing with his legs. They had him in the ER for a good 5 hours (some of which 'cause he wasn't critical) finally I just signed him out and took him home. The primary doc hadn't even been called, which we were not aware of. They called him after I took home and he called me.

With him it was a condition that resulted from his stomach having a bit of bleeding ulcers and from what the doc explained to me cause he had broken bones as a kid in his leg fluids build in the area where there were previous breaks. His all cleared with meds pretty quickly. 5 hours in the ER and about 2 seconds for the Doc to know exactly what it was.

Any reason why the Doc didn't want to see you?

Thanks, Gabe! :)

No, bleeding ulcers here, and my calcaneous bone that I split open when I was 13 is one of the few parts of my feet that hasn't given me any problems during this.
Also, I did some more research this afternoon.
As they used to talk about back in the day, beer actually can contribute to gout attacks. Liqueur to a lesser degree, and apparently, wine seems to not contribute too it. I think I may need to invent beer-flavored wine...! :D ;) :)
Although things are much better now, I haven't needed to get out of bed in a little while.
I'll see how that goes in a few... :cyclops:

As far as the doc goes, I believe she was out of the office today.

Anyway, thanks again, Gabe...! :)

Their project now is trying to talk her parents let here come with us on vacation:rolleyes::mad:

And was an invite extended to the young'n. I use to go to Mississippi with my high school sweetheart and his family. That first trip my Mom had a whole lot of questions for his Mom, I can remember the two Mom's and us sitting at the House of Pies as the ladies discussed my future.....it was so annoying then. Oh the fun we had.........

I just have to face it, I'm not his favorite girl anymore:(:(:( BTW him being able to do that got him a special Disney surprise. he got to pull the sword from the stone.:inlove: He used to be so cute!

I was blessed. Neither of my kids did that swing'n hormone thing so teen years were not bad. DS had his love and breakups, but he never took them out on us and I was his confidant. My DD just had no time for all the teen nonsense, she had goals and boys or any of the drama girls took to at that age she completely distanced herself from, she was born an adult, so much so she spooked me at times.

THNX It looks like the worst of it will be to the south of me. But a 30 mile shift in the track could be very, very bad!

Pixie Dust, hope it works out for you. Being West of Lake Michigan a 30 mile plus minus is easily built in, the lake makes the snow circle around and repeatedly hit again and again during big storms.

Our schools have a no cologne, perfume policy to protect allergy suffers.

I wish our school had, even the dorms at my DD University should have at least in the dorm bathrooms minimum. Both my DD and I have horrible reactions to perfumes, colognes etc. We actually let people go in front of us in lines if someone has decided there is a need for cologne in the parks. We are very cautious as to which parts of Norway and France we enter and leave from.

@donaldtoo , I'm hoping that your foot feels better soon. Any family history of gout, or RA (rheumatoid arthritis)? When you said it affected more than one spot on your foot, that got me to thinking about RA-type symptoms (also, sometimes gout and RA can even overlap. although that's less common). I can understand your frustration with the medical team, as you felt gyped that you didn't get to see an MD. That's becoming more the norm these days with skyrocketing medical expenses, although some of the NPs and PAs can also be quite good.

You can always insist on an MD if you feel you're not getting the appropriate treatment. (Now you may have to wait longer, or book out in the future, to see an MD, but it's an option.) Remember, you're a patient and also a paying customer. You and your insurance company are shelling out big bucks for your care, so (within reason), if you weren't thrilled with the first tier of medical clinicians, insist on seeing an MD. It does sound like they ran the usual tests for gout, etc., so the results from those tests will certainly be helpful, no matter what.

Thanks, Minnie! :)

Ultimately, I really had no issue with the NP or PA. As I posted before, I was just hoping for a more definitive (unreasonable expectations...?) diagnosis, and a more expedited treatment plan, probably because it's so flippin' painful and debilitating.
I've seen the PA many times, the NP was new.
Anyway, the meds are working and I feel much better now. Hopefully, I get a call before the weekend about the blood work, so this can all be figured out ASAP.

Also, I don't know of any instances of RA or gout in mine or my parents generation on either side of the family.

Anyway, thanks again, Minnie...! :)

It is a lovely Riesling. About $10 I first had it at Artist Point, thinking there I paid about $10 a glass vs bottle.
