Id love AKL as well, its gorgeous.
While this Hotel I am right now is good ( Old Key West) You cant beat the theming of AKL.

btw, did I mentioned that the Contemporary looks like a carphole?
no seriously, trash everywhere in the first 3 floors (Chef mickeys area up to the monorail area)

It was an all inclusive package, air, car, hotel. They knew well in advance that they were overbooked on the block of seats they had for that flight and the resort. So the Disney Dollars to take a little later flight and a bump to AKL from POR and then more Disney Dollars for misplacing the first Disney Dollars. It was the Walt Disney Travel Company so they have the ease to correct.

That would be Apollo 1. The 3 astronauts were killed during a launch rehearsal because of a cabin fire.
I didn't realize it was on display there.

I found a coupla' things online that say the Apollo 1 capsule was never on display and has been in storage since they finished studying it after the accident.

Anyway, will hafta' research more later, 'cause it's back to the grind for me...

I was just thinking that was probably the reason Apollo 1 wasn't on display. If my loved one had been inside Apollo 1 I don't think I would want people gawking at the capsule where they passed away.

Hubby remembers this; there was a mock up of the capsule. I was so distraught at the time, I missed this. Grisham was from Mitchell, Indiana. I remember feeling like crying at the time, I was only 21 years old. It made a life time impression on me. Sorry for the mistakes!

The Reese's eggs are the best, the ratio of peanut butter far exceeds the amount of chocolate. It just works.

I love peanut butter, hubby used to like peanut butter, now he doesn't. I don't know what happened as I used to hate peanut butter. Are we changing places?

While I've never had the hankering for parades or shows that Dragon is freak'n amazing and I am in awe looking at castle all lit up.

Keep the photos coming. The bonus for me who is too fidgety to wait for a parade or show is I get to see the parade without having to stand there. Thanks.

Kids won't do parades , either. I love the pictures. I only get to see the parade on the way out.

It is 30 here. By Sunday the high is to be 18 and getting colder after that. The Frozen Slushie that looks like snow but isn't is still hanging around, hard as concrete. Have I mentioned I hate snow, cold and want to reside in Florida (lately) ???

Thanks for posting UNI, I don't think I will make it there. DD wants to wait until youngest can ride most of the rides. He is very small in height for his age. Hubby is too cheap to pay for a cab to go there, along with tickets. Have the best time. I'm living through your (our) trip. Say a special "hello" to your Mother, she is a special woman, to have raised a "special" son!

I believe that all capsules that were actually flown have that burnt look on the outside due to re-entry. I guess it might be pretty easy to mistake that for the Apollo 1 disaster. It would be quite morbid, however, to have that particular capsule on display, out of respect for the men that died and their families, I doubt it will ever see the light of day.

You are right, it was a mock up according to hubby. Sometimes I get too emotional to hear what is being said. Also, I haven't been able to hear well for many years. Drat the lost hearing and tinnitus.

I'm going to go into hibernation on Thurs. and Friday. I'm pulling my curtains closed and pretending it's not snowing. The house temperature is going to 75! I'm doing two pj's days! I should be good! Plus a margarita to keep me warm!

Time does fly. I can't believe the school year is halfway over already.

Me either, we are making reservations for our June trips with the kids. (DD is doing all of this, we just go along). I would eat all QS , as I haven't had many TS that we all like. With quick service, we have gone to several places, and met up to eat.
