Going to do some ketchup, now. Yea! It means more people are back on. I love reading what everyone is doing. We are going back to the kids for New Years Day. More games and puzzles, with a taco bar! We don't go out on New Year's Eve. Drivers get crazy out here on that night. Besides it always too cold!;)
A taco bar, that sounds yummy! We're not going out either. Being just the two of us, we always go out to an early dinner and home before dark. The past few years I haven't made it much past midnight.

When I was in the Netherlands (The Hague, Amsterdam, Utrecht, in the summer of '97) pretty much everyone seemed fluent in English. But maybe they learn it in school a little later, and I was just speaking to adults.
They start learning it in 5th grade...some schools start earlier than that, but pretty much all of them start by 5th grade and it's required in high school. Most people, at least under the age of 50 speak English, but if you get a teenager working in a store, they might not have much experience speaking with a native speaker, and it makes them nervous. But there are some people, like my father-in-law who can't speak a word beyond "Yes" and "no" and maybe a few numbers.

What a nice surprise when things like that happen. I remember a couple of years ago my husband and I were in the liquor section and he was in the rum aisle and I was in the beer and I spotted a beer I enjoyed in Hawaii. I guess I squealed and then I started calling my husbands name to come quick. He thought something was wrong with me. But no it was just excitement over beer!

I climbed down a stepladder yesterday, put something on the counter then ran into the ladder. I don't know how I forgot it was there.
Yeah that sounds like something I'd do. I ran into our bedroom door handle this morning because I asked hubby to get the ironing board out of my way when I was hanging laundry to dry and he put it behind the door, so it was sticking out just a tad farther than usual and bam.

Awesome! It was in the 70s here a bit damp but not bad and the little bit of bad winds we got early died down so one of the poor little fishes went on the grill. I checked out the weather for the end of next week and it will be great again! New Year's Eve BBQ at my house this year ham and sausages, smoked mac and cheese, smoked baked beans, salad and coleslaw. RSVP by Monday THNX

Sorry I didn't RSVP...my bad (or whatever they're calllin' it these days  ;))...
On the plus side though, the cab driver said we're only about 5 mins. out from your casa...! :D ;) :)
