Ivory Tower Squabble EST 2011. WINDMILL SURVIVOR
I don't understand the costume rules. If you don't wear a costume that could hide a weapon, or cover your face; what is the harm? I would think Disney should ban huge strollers and ECVs. Could hide any kind of weapon in those.

It is a two-fer

There has been issues with guests and their costumes for years but hard to undo what has been accepted and blind eyed with adults, it did get out of hand with some choices of costumes for adults. Back in the 90's only kids wore costumes. Just like they had to change the rules on Princess makeovers back to kids only 'cause weird adults horned in on what was meant for little kids. So then they established a maximum age. The masks are an issue but they tacked on the costumes in general to fix a different issue at the same time.

yeah, we had a few calls.
the company edreams was the culprit.
There was a full change of flights (some number flights were moved , hours changed)
but they never alerted me in any form.

My mother called via phone very early today..and resolved the issue. It was a nightmare as her voice (the customer support's microphone) was failing and the words cutting up.

They supposedly were waiting for us to contact them. Got my new tickets and confirmation.
The hotel is still pending, but my boss claims the system says its booked. That the hotel staffwas an idiot.

I'm also waiting for the refund of the premiun seats of my older booking. since they are no longer valid.
Congrats on the flight getting fixed. Do you have a confirmation number for the hotel? If you made a deposit UNI should have fixed it by now!

Oil is a commodity that is highly influenced by the futures contracts. Nasdaq had it closing at only $35 a barrel and W TX closed even below that again today. I think it is a big reach for interest rates to have made gasoline jump in price in Illinois. Everytime the barrel price jumps up so does gasoline. Barrel has lost a great deal so an increase of 25 cents in nothing more than price gouging in my opinion.
It's the annual Christmas miracle. Every year around this time oil is a bit lower but gas jumps.:cautious:

So sorry you are going through this. Flying is bad enough , without the pre drama. We have trouble almost every time we fly. We book seats together, but we end up not sitting together. We check every flight to get this fixed. Such a mess. Do you remember the Seinfeld episode about "you can take the reservations, but you can't keep the reservations"? So true, and funny for the show
That's a big part of the reason we drive. It's so much easier for us.

We have some older systems still around here but my kids were never really gamers. They have not bought a new system in a very long time. So glad when they were not on any wish list anymore. It reminded me of desk top computers for a while when they were obsolete before they were close to their RIP time. Obsolescence by design is so irritating no matter what type of product it is.
We got our money's worth out of every PS system so far, they got us through broken bones and awful winters. We did get a game cube, that one was not worth it. I'm not much of a gamer but I do enjoy Ratchet and Kingdom Hearts and I did enjoy Spyro back on the PS One.

Day 13 of the Adventure.... November 1, (Sunday).. Port of Call - Livorno, Italy

Today's activity in includes Pisa, Florence and a Wine tasting in the Tuscany Region.

It started out a little rocky. It seems that the tour company had a bit of a problem in that the scheduled driver didn't show up. We ultimately left the ship about 35 minutes later then originally scheduled. I, having been in transportation for years, was not overly concerned about this, but, some of the "seasoned" cruisers were embarrassingly vocal and angry about this. I suppose I should be glad because it ultimately saved us around $30.00 because of it, but, I hate that kind of confrontation and loud mouth blaming people that had no power over that particular situation. Eventually it all calmed down and we were on our way. First stop... Pisa and the leaning tower within...

After a brief visit it was off to Florence, Italy...

View attachment 122547 One of a couple of "David" statues found in Florence.

Then to something that was a surprise to me. It was a Wine Tasting/Luncheon at a small family vineyard in the Tuscany region. I have already confessed that my knowledge of wine is limited to the Boone's Farm label, but, I was asked to "rate" a number of wines that were made there at the vineyard. I nodded my head a lot, like I knew something, but, I'm sure they saw right past my faux wine literacy. Still it was a good meal and some outstanding scenery that surrounded and made up the vineyard. I was far more enamored by that then the spirits.

Lovely....what were the buildings in Florence? And did you see the "real" David?

Years ago, I had to live with ex after we broke up............... for I think 6 months or so, because affordable apartments are so few and far between in NYC.

That was a lot of fun, especially when he decided it was fine for him to bring his one night stands home on a pretty regular basis.

I was devastated at the time, but in retrospect, so lucky to have gotten out of that situation.

Plus, he hated Disney. And at least Phil tolerates it. Slightly.
How can someone HATE Disney??? Is that even possible? I lived with my ex for 3 whole days before he kicked me out. We had agreed to share the apartment because neither of us could afford to pay the full rent or pay rent in 2 places..poor college students. He started staying with friends and came back after 3 days and said he couldn't live with me, it was too hard, but he couldn't stay with his friends because they were moving, so -I- had to go, but oh yeah, your name's still on the lease, so you still have to pay rent. It sucked at the time, but I really dodged a bullet getting out of it before we got married!
