Am I the only person who had an emotional and personal connection with the Disney characters especially at WDW? I always get butterflies in my stomach when I meet them especially when it's your favorite character. It's like meeting Santa Claus but extra special and is seriously hard to explain to people who hadn't been to any Disney park who are mostly familiar with Six Flags or any generic Amusement park.

I was afraid of the characters when I was a kid, so I never developed a fondness for them. I like them now, and love watching my DD interact with them, but I probably wouldn't seek them out on my own. I do want to get a pic with Stitch someday, though! And maybe Gaston. :D

I also apparently never liked meeting Santa Claus either because the only photo I can recall is one when I'm a toddler and crying my eyes out while sitting in his lap. I'm more of an "admire from a distance" fan I guess. :hilarious:

Last week, we were doing crafts at school (for free. This is the awesome part about going to private college). I came home with a picture frame that was completely glittery and my mom said, "Oh, it's all glittery, how pretty!" And I was like, "Yeah. It's only that way because I completely screwed up.":hilarious:
you could just always make these super happy smiles. "totally did it on purpose" :hilarious:

pretty sure a ton of people do that.
If they weren't.. the popularity of the M&G's wouldn't be that great.

I have no emotional connection with the Characters. One of our members here and a CM does and I admire her love characters. Over the years I've enjoyed her posts and her summaries of characters and she has been helpful in the past helping members know if particular characters are still circulating and in what park or if they are on hiatus.

I will take a photo with them just for the heck of it if there isn't a line or it only has a few guests in it. Have not been to a Character meal in a very very long time. Did this all when my kids were young but went to meals over standing in lines. The only exception was when my DS was very young and was in love with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Sometimes we hit that show and meet and greet multiple times a day for him. I would have never ever stood in a line for the various Princesses that have been popular in recent years. Fortunately my DD was never a Princess type of Gal.
speaking TMNT..
I really want to go see the TMNT guys at the Nick Hotel.. but most of the other content really isnt.. well for me lol.

Also, speaking of more TMNT...
There are a lot of interesting comics lately, all related to TMNT.
Like the new Batman and TMNT crossover.
Or the new "Deviation" evil turtles announcement.

Slightly freaking out about cupcakes....We're decorating them Monday, but the Market isn't until Wednesday...they need to still be edible, which means I need to bake them Sunday night/Monday morning, but my nephew's birthday party is Sunday, so I won't have much time on Sunday, plus stores are closed on Sundays so I need to have ALL groceries/supplies tomorrow and I'm terrified I'm going to forget something. I know logically that I can just make a list and that organization is key, but I'm worried something will happen and I won't have everything ready.

It was a very tumultuous year. There are some real issues and concerns going on with the head director (remember I'm just the assistant at the new school), but the kids pulled though and did a great job. We have such great kids! But, I'm quite glad to be out of marching band season and more in control of my own universe... 7 gigs for my jazz band in the next two months. That's where my passion is and I have a great group of kids willing to go with me!

More importantly...3 weeks until our next Disney visit. Another Xmas-New Year's week. Should be fun!
What's your instrument? I miss singing Jazz...that was my favorite in College. Weird because I hated Jazz before, but was required to audition for it to keep my scholarship. I made it in my 2nd year and was really not looking forward to it, but it turned out to be my favorite.

I have mentioned this here before, but, the size of the Mona Lisa I kinda' knew from early art classes. Although, I thought it might be a little larger.
The one that caught me by surprise was The Last Supper. For some reason, I always thought it was about 2'x4' on canvas, instead of the about 15'x30' wall mural that it really is. :cyclops:
The Nightwatch was like that for me. I was expecting your standard wall hanging sized thing and it was HUGE....and the thing is that apparently it was cropped because when it was painted, it was too big to fit the place for which it was commissioned or something, so they cut some of the edges off so it would fit.

When we met Gaston, he was so funny, and down to earth. He approached us as we were going to get the cinnamon rolls ( I wish they would serve them fresh and warm again, but I digress). The Gaston we interacted with was a really good "character". Your never too old!:D

never trust upgrades!!
I always install the newer version in a "virtual" machine inside the old installation, then move this virtual one to a physical hard disk when everything is ready :p
Hubby installed, and he has the patience of a saint. He has trouble every day....but as he says it's slowly getting better. I'm not installing until it works as it should.

My brother bought the original Steamboat Willie. We watched it over and over. And I grew up with Looney Tunes, so characters were fun to me, including Santa.

I know the problem, I have a cook book for some substitutions, I'll be glad to help you if I can.

We went to our Grandson's band concert and they did a lot of jazz, it was my favorite last night. The kids really liked doing it according to the band director.
