Ivory Tower Squabble EST 2011. WINDMILL SURVIVOR
Today I made sixty dutch chocolate mini muffins, sixty vanilla red mini cupcakes and ten loaves of pumpkin bread. Now I'm sitting on my butt watching Santa Buddies. :D

All that hard work aside (yes you deserved to sit on your tushie) your home has to smell absolutely amazing. And likely too dangerous for me to enter at this time of the year. :hungry:

Day 16 of the Adventure.... November 4, (Wednesday).. Port of Call - Palma de Mallorca, Spain

Here is a place that has even @JenniferS trumped when it comes to the unnecessary use of letters in a word. To begin with just in the name Mallorca, the first 'a' is pronounced as an 'i'. Then it is followed by two LL's, both of which are silent. Tell me that isn't messed up. Why even have one letter, much less two, and then have them silent.

Truthfully, that is the only thing that I could find seriously wrong with the place and I can certainly see why so many filthy rich people spend their winters there. It is really a modern, warm and inviting place to be. We, again, didn't spend a lot of time there. We mostly just walked around the waterfront and a few side streets to get the feel of it. I guess that by that time we were both getting a little traveled out. Still glad we went there, but, we really didn't have a lot of time to just explore or any idea what to explore. I'll share a few pictures so you all can get some idea of the appeal of the place.

In the interest in saving a little time and space November 5th (Day 17) and 6th (Day 18) were "At Sea" days in route to our next port of call. At around 5 PM on the 5th we passed by The Rock Of Gibraltar. Not as close as I would have liked, but, they wouldn't let me drive so I had to do the best I could.

You're lucky your system hasnt forced the install.
Microsoft had installed a patch that forced you to install windows 10 even if you refused to install it.
It was ANNOYING and a lot of people complained.

I still have not installed 10. I get invites multiple times a day in a pop up but Microsoft has yet to hijack my computer and forced 10 into the laptop yet.

So gorgeous. Really want to go to Spain someday...

FYI, in Catalan, the two L's would be silent. In regular old Castellano (what we think of as Spanish) the two L's would have a "y" sound. Just the way the languages developed from Latin. Spain technically has four official languages, so things get wonky.

Wonky is hardly the word for it. So following your information it has a silent "a" and two "L's" that sound like a "Y", so really three useless letters when Myorca would have said the same thing. Now I know why I never took Spanish in school. :in pain::joyfull:
That, plus I had no interest in doing so.

No. In regular Spanish, it would be Mayorca, with the a being pronounced as if you were saying "Ma" in English. In Catalan, it would be different, but Catalan is a different language than Spanish (even though both technically came from Spain...)

You should like Spanish. It has even fewer unnecessary letters than English does. :P
