So....basically pumpkin pie filling without the crust, but then with the cake mix and butter on the top? Makes me wish we had cake mix here.
Yikes that is cold there. 33 was our high today. 65 here on Wednesday and Thursday. They are promising 55 on ThanksGiving. We shall see. My Sis knew what she was doing-bolted this morning for el Salvatore for a week.
I found this article that says there's no indication it's due to seismic activity: http://www.signalscv.com/section/36/article/145187/
I'm sure the ground is constantly moving around out here. I remember in high school we used to joke about a stretch of road on Portuguese Bend (on Palos Verdes Peninsula) because it was so hilly and winding that it would someday fall into the ocean. But it's still there!
I take blueberry preserves or cherry preserves, and put on a Ritz, top with cool whip non dairy...mini low calorie pie!I was thinking I might make a pumpkin pie for the day after Thanksgiving (since we're going out to a restaurant for Thanksgiving Day). Could never make a decent pie crust though, so I found some pre-made pie crusts in the supermarket's refrigerator section. They're from Pillsbury, and they're already made and rolled up in the box. So I think all you have to do is unroll the pie crust and dump it in a pie pan!
I already had a can of pumpkin in the cabinet. However, I did have to buy pumpkin pie spice, and a can of sweetened condensed milk.
Recipe says that you can put whipped cream on top of the pie when you serve it, so I bought a can of Reddi-whip. I wanted to try out the whipped cream, but I didn't have any pie at home, so I sprayed some on a Ritz cracker! Ha! It tasted yummy though! Then I had a second cracker . . . and a third . . ..

I took my DD to her first Uno's just last year. The newer ones are nicer, this one is a bit of a dive especially on the original level. The one in the suburbs is nicer but has that franchise feel to it. Due is nicer but very much the same. Riccardo's I had never heard of until about 4 months ago, go figure. Thanks for shipping him up to Illinois. Wonder if he would have ever developed his deep dish down in Austin.
My local Pub has a darn good deep dish, better than their thin. My favorite is Lou Malnati's but oucp h! it costs a pretty penny, it was my DS Birthday dinner though and I usually ship a few pies to my Sis in Ohio a few times a year.
Thin crust is hit or miss around here. Some are real good, others not so much. Many are franchised and not consistent from venue to venue.
My favorite is Barnaby's. It has been around since I was little and now I believe they are down to two. One on either side of my folks. Their crust is very thin and crispy. Thin crust here seems to mean not deep dish, nothing more. There is also White Cottage, a family place that also seems to get it right but incredibly expensive for the volume of food you get. Deep Dish, well with all the cheese and ingredients filled up in that pie you get some bang for your buck.
It actually got down to 27 here overnight.![]()
We were in WDW in the resort, my DH wanted to catch the game when he thought the resort cable went out, annoyed. I went to the lobby for some adult beverages when I learned at the bar/TV that their was a horrible earthquake In the San Fran area. Had he not wanted to watch the game we likely would have totally unaware of the quake up there. We always stuck to avoiding any media from outside the World, sports always wiggled its way in though.
My Mom loved dolls, and loved Small World as well.Small World is my Dads favorite ride too. Always was.
If I ever relent and allow him to go back to WDW he will be the one in the cart taking aim at peoples ankles.
Last summer I had a big old goose fly over and drop poop right on my head. This was the second time this has happened.I always thought so too until this past summer when I got buzzed by a very large bald eagle. They're quite impressive but from a bit farther away
This would make a beautiful Christmas Card. Love the red apples!
they could also set it where the big tree is in the lobby area.It sure would be pretty down by the lake at the Coronado by the abandoned boat slip. Just not next to the Margarita bar.
Reminds me of Alaska.. they are everywhere.. specially in Juneau.I always thought so too until this past summer when I got buzzed by a very large bald eagle. They're quite impressive but from a bit farther away
clearly he just wants your attentionSo many decisions for Walt . . .![]()
If he's at all like Jack, he's very fickle. If I have a door shut, he will scratch to come in. Once he's in, he wants to go out. This happens ALL the time . . .
