I have water. I don't have any ice though. Somewhere in a cabinet I think I might have an ice cube tray. If I can find it, I'll put in some water and place it in the freezer. Think it takes at least an hour for ice cubes, right?

Edit: I just asked hubby where the ice cube tray is, and he told me it's in the freezer. Neither one of us has ever put any water in it, though! :hilarious:
Did you know you know you can buy ice from the store in bags?

Back when I was a kid I lived in an Italian neighborhood and they made a type of lace cookie I could never duplicate no matter how hard I tried. We also bought bread from another bakery and onion rolls from another, pork came from the pork butcher and so on. That's something I miss about the city, all the little specialty places.

We are lucky here. We still do have butchers and bakers (and candlestick makers). This is a somewhat unique city for our region though.

Good morning everyone. I am up and at 'em...even though I feel so tired I could just crawl back in bed. But it's off to my office I go. Quite a bit of work to get done this morning. Blah.

Hubby is off to get the winter tires put on but hopefully we won't really need them for another month. Fingers crossed.

Jersey Day at school today so I spent an hour last night trying to find a soccer jersey that hasn't been worn in 2 years. (Tried to convince my child that a gi is a jersey for karate but that didn't work.) Found the jersey in the nick of time in the costume trunk. Still fits though as it was huge when the kids got them.

Karate and meeting for me tonight. Busy busy busy. Yuck.

I know what you mean with this too. I often have kids ask me for "help" during a test or on their work and expect me to tell them the answer. They always get that confused look when I turn their questions around to get them to think about the answer, it is almost like they are shocked I just don't tell them.
I was a tutor in high school and most of the kids I tutored tried to play the "I don't get it." card, thinking that if they said that enough, you'd give up and give them the answers.

I didn't know there was a such thing as snow tires until I was on these boards. I don't know what I thought y'all did up where you get lots of snow. I guess I thought maybe you had magical cars immune to the effects of winter. :hilarious:
I hope you don't need them for a while as well.

Oh, high school tutoring. Where kids are forced by there parents to be there and it clearly shows that they do not want to be there. :banghead:

I had this one student who thought bringing all of her friends to tutoring was okay. Most annoying student ever. I almost told her I wasn't tutoring her anymore because I felt like she was just taking advantage of my time. I had to issue a "no friends" policy across the board, and one time, she tried to disobey that rule, and I got up and left. I actually saw her not too long ago as she goes to the school where I take Spanish (I usually run into people from high school. I like at my school that I almost never run into people from high school). Thankfully, I was walking with someone from my class talking to that person so I passed her and did not have to talk to her, although I could tell she recognized me. I haven't had such a thing happen tutoring college kids yet, although those kids are usually there because they know they need to improve their grade, so their reasons are different.
