That sentence just perplexes the heck out of me. :jawdrop: :joyfull:
How so? Was my grammar not correct? (I'm kind of a grammar Nazi) Or is it just that you don't understand why anyone would be excited to take a taxi? Perhaps if I explain there was no such thing as public transportation where I grew up? No trains, no buses, no subway, no taxis. Well, my small town didn't even have a single stoplight and the street that goes around the entire housing section is only 2 miles long. And as we were 40 miles from the next nearest town, public transportation wouldn't really be efficient. We got excited just to go to the bank when we went to the next town because it was the only building with an elevator. Anything that was out of the ordinary was exciting, including elevators, escalators, buses, trains, taxis, subways, department stores with more than one floor, and for a long time, Walmart (until the next town got one).

OK, more pics of Disneyland! First up, some New Orleans shots.

A brief clip of Splash Mountain. I recorded some inside the ride, but so much of it is dark and not very interesting. I really hope they fix it up soon.

And I may as well post one of my ride pics, so y'all know what I look like now (I'm the one in the back). I think it's safe. :p Plus look how happy those kids are!!

Awesome! I actually read it as "I'm the one in black" at first, and I thought it was a picture from when you were a kid, but then I didn't know when they started doing ride pictures at Disney, plus the clothing styles looked pretty recent, and I knew you weren't a 10 year old. :D

wait a sec, melba toast is a brand?

one of my bosses uses that nickname as "business name" on the email address lol
No, it's not a brand. Just a kind of cracker-like thing. We don't have Ritz or club brand here, but we have something similar, called Tuc. And I don't know if saltine is a brand, but we obviously don't have that brand, if it is a brand. We just have crackers like that.

There are like a thousand types of cereal here but most of them taste the same to me - like twigs or sweetened twigs. I never understood why the cereal aisle is the biggest.
I miss some of them, like...Peanut Butter Cap'n Crunch was always my fave. And I haven't had Count Chocula in decades. My daughter fell in love with Lucky Charms when we were there last time. But since we have a lack of selection here, it DOES make it easier to eat yogurt with berries and oats, as there's not really a more attractive alternative. It's that or all-bran.

And yet another change in plans. The attending physician that was scheduled for my Cataract procedure went into labor and cannot be there today. (talk about being inconsiderate to a veteran)... So I'm back to a Friday appointment. (assuming with a different attending) Don't they realize that changes in schedules is a major life problem for the elderly?
Since when are you ELDERLY??? Changes in schedule just really suck.

You would think so wouldn't you! She could have waited one more day if she really cared. That's the problem with today's world, we only think about ourselves. Ironic isn't it?;)
You remind me of a meme: Did you ever think about how a giraffe's neck is so long, that if it were to drink coffee, the coffee would be cold by the time it made it down? No! Because you only think about yourself!

Good morning everyone. Day off for me! (Although I cheated a bit and wrote a quick report in bed this morning.)

I spent last evening watching those cheesy Hallmark-type made-for-TV Christmas movies. This is a guilty pleasure of mine. I know they are corny and predictable but there's something about them that really gets me in the Christmas spirit and makes me feel good.

What are your plans for today? This afternoon, my son and I are going to the arcade at the mall. Should be fun.
You're not alone1 I watch a few to get me in the Christmas spirit. I might just pop in the Chipmunks Christmas next Friday while decorating:joyfull:

I understand what you mean...totally! I was 15 the first time I rode in a taxi and it was exciting for me too.

Saltine isn't a brand. Just like Melba toast, it's just a type of cracker. Premium Plus is the popular type of saltine here.

Good morning everyone, we had a couple trees badly damaged in the snow and winds. We are under a high wind watch until 9 this morning. I forgot to mention something interesting, while we were out shoveling. We had three police cars within 200 yards of our house. One policeman stopped to ask if we had seen a couple girls in the neighborhood. We hadn't. In light of what's happening over seas. I was glad to see our police out patrolling and searching for people that apparently don't belong here.
