I'm so sorry to hear this, do you have cluster type of migraines? They come for several days in a row, and then disappear for a week or two maybe longer. I've always drank a cup of hot coffee and taken Advil, then go to a dark room and lie down. That helped for the day, then they would come back again and again, until one day I would get up and they were gone. I didn't have them until I had my daughter. After menopause , now I get the Aura's but no headache. I also found a shot of tequila would sometimes stop them in their track. I don't recommend this, but it worked for me when coffee and Advil didn't.

You know, I have never tried the tequila shot. I don't have any in the house at the moment but tomorrow if this thing isn't gone, I might just get me some. Ole!

They aren't typically cluster migraines, no. At my worst, I would get migraines frequently but they would come and go away after I had slept and maybe two to four days later I would get another one. This feels just like one big migraine that hasn't actually left. However, I did just take an advil as opposed to the naproxen I took at lunch and it is offering some relief. I'm pretty sure the naproxen did zip all.

Thank you all for your concern. Going to try to go to bed very soon. Haven't had luck with closing my eyes but maybe now that I'm getting tired I can.

You know, I've always wondered what they would call us if they didn't just use the term "Americans". I mean...you've got variations when referencing citizens of other countries....you add "an" like CanadiAN, MexicAN, BraziliAN. And then there is "ese"...Japanese, Chinese, Portuguese...or ones that just name them something completely different like the Dutch. But what would you call people from the US? United Statesians? United Statesese? Statesish?

Statesers

I hope you get a good nights rest. Advil has saved me many times. As far as the tequila, take it when a migraine is coming on. It won't work after it's full blown.

Better safe than sorry.

Several years ago, a friend of mine that is with the Austin PD got called to the seen of a possible shooter going into a government building downtown.
By the time they got it all sorted out, it turned out it was just a guy returning a shotgun in a gun case he had borrowed from a coworker for dove hunting.

Another funny part to the umbrella terrorist story is that while they were on a manhunt for him, someone else phoned in and said, "I think the person you saw might have been me. I was walking up the street with my hunting rifle on my way to my friend's house to go out deer hunting." I have never seen someone carrying a gun in this city in my life! What are the chances that would be the day that it happened?

You know, life's a hoot.
We went out with some friends for a Friday night dinner and all of all of our families kiddos. An excoworker of DWifey's at Payless (they're both long gone now), and had a blast. They're about a decade younger than us, and they had a very hard pregnancy with their, now 5 month old little angel.
There is no price you can put on the joy we had enjoying the time we had together.

Also, we spent today at a National Down Syndrome Society Buddy Walk.
So proud if our kiddos, and so happy that we, as a family, stay so involved.
Don't want to leave anytime soon, but, if the Good Lord took me tonight, I'd be OK...NOT...!!! :joyfull: ;) :)

The umbrella terrorist sounds like a name of a villain in a comic book. :hilarious:

Yucky...I hope your migraine goes away. I used to get bad migraines too they wouldn't last for days though, so I guess I was lucky. I haven't had one in a few years. I actually got one shortly after my husband and I were married and he hadn't ever been around when I got them. I woke up and was screaming for him to turn off the light, he didn't understand because there were no lights on. It was the time clock on the old VCR that was making it too bright for me. He was really scared because I was in such discomfort; he probably was thinking he married a crazy person. Anyway, that was the worst one I had around him. I know fascinating story...

My dad used to get them for years too and then suddenly no more for him either. Anyway, feel better I know they are not fun.

When I was younger, I used to cry with pain. Somewhere along the way, my pain tolerance increased. Now I feel like I want to lob my head off but I have learned how to function, mostly because hiding away for an entire day is not an option. The silver lining of it all was that you don't need drugs for childbirth. lol It wasn't much worse than some of the migraines.

Light doesn't bother me at all. But I can't take loud sound.
