Actually I find the caffeine to work for me regardless of what I take with it. Have suffered from them since I was 14. Been through lots of different prescriptions and different doses and alternative treatments. Sometimes they just don't help. I will probably need a needle from the emergency room.

Anyway...I appreciate the concern. I know nothing anyone can really do. Just thought I would share.
Have you tried green apple scent? I don't get migraines, but I read somewhere that green apple scented candles can relieve some of the symptoms. Hope you feel better soon!

My kids still really want to see this. I've been trying to get there but it never seems like the right time. I enjoyed the first one a lot but I'm a little leery on this one. What did you think of it?
I think its cute.. still talks about growing up, having kids and parents.
Dracula now has a double problem (dealing with the baby, with Mavis and with his father)
both who are completely opposites of the vampire spectrum.

Feeling silly.

A bunch of schools in my city were in lockdown this morning. The police were trying to find a suspect who was spotted outside the high school caring a gun in a soft case. When I heard about this, I went and got my son from his school because it made me feel better to have him home with me. Throughout the day, more and more schools went on lockdown or were secured as the police kept looking. We decided to take a drive to a city an hour away when I heard the police scanner say they were searching a couple of streets over from our house. They finally apprehended the suspect and he was carrying an odd umbrella in a case. . . .

I guess I can go home now. *embarassed*

Better safe than sorry.

Several years ago, a friend of mine that is with the Austin PD got called to the scene of a possible shooter going into a government building downtown.
By the time they got it all sorted out, it turned out it was just a guy returning a shotgun in a gun case he had borrowed from a coworker for dove hunting.

No
How is your recovery going? I hope well.
It's slow but sure. I have good days and bad. Yesterday was bad and I took painkillers again (I avoid painkillers except for migraines and one week or so out of the month because I feel like I put so much medication into my body that I should minimize when possible), but today is better, although thinking I'm probably going to ice it and take painkiller again in a few. I think it's actually a good thing because where it now aches is a spot that was completely numb after the surgery, so now it's heeling, although I woke up middle of the night on Friday night and ripped off the brace because one of the numb spots felt like bee stings. After some ice and loosening the straps, I fell back asleep. Two more weeks until I go back to the doctor for it again.

Exactly. Well stated.

In my town we didn't have sidewalks when my kids were growing up. For us they came during 9/11 with major road rebuilding that year. My DD was in 4th grade my DS already in high school. My kids learned to navigate the roads while walking and riding bikes in the street. I so hated that. I grew up with sidewalks and some people are nuts driving their cars around kids.

I have empathy for you and the ambulance driver. I had my son in his buggy in the mega mall. Maybe 3 months old. I was in the hallway portion and he was screaming his fool head off, colic and all but I needed to buy Christmas Presents so the mall it was him screaming me exhausted. An elderly women sitting on a brick wall next to her husband stood up and stuck her face into the buggy and screamed two inches from my DS face SHUT UP and yelled at me for not keeping him quiet. Yep. Nuts. I ignored her and looked at her mortified husband and told him to get a grip on his wife or I was calling for security. Poor guy. He attempted as I pushed the buggy onward as she then fought with him. I'll never forget the loon in my infant sons face screaming.
One word....awful!

Bulletin!! Hubby just called for me to go downstairs, and he was standing at the front door with it open. He said, "Look!" OMG--it was SNOWING!!!!!! Wow! What a great day so far!! :joyfull: It was so weird -- the sun was out, the sky was dark gray and it was snowing!! HA! He was all freaked out, but I thought it was wonderful. Anyway, it just stopped a few minutes after it started, but what an unexpected treat on October 18th!

It may be your treat, but it is my nightmare!;)

On a yuckier note, I have had a migraine headache for three days. This hasn't happened in a very long time. Yesterday and Friday it lessened to a regular kind of headache for much of the day and would ramp up at dinner time. This morning, I woke up thinking it was gone but by lunch time it had come back with a vengeance...full strength. I can't sleep it off because every time I close my eyes I see a black spot pounding to the rhythm of my pulse. So for now, I am just laying back, browsing the boards, trying to relax. If it is still here tomorrow, I'm going to have to go to the clinic.

Yucky...I hope your migraine goes away. I used to get bad migraines too they wouldn't last for days though, so I guess I was lucky. I haven't had one in a few years. I actually got one shortly after my husband and I were married and he hadn't ever been around when I got them. I woke up and was screaming for him to turn off the light, he didn't understand because there were no lights on. It was the time clock on the old VCR that was making it too bright for me. He was really scared because I was in such discomfort; he probably was thinking he married a crazy person. Anyway, that was the worst one I had around him. I know fascinating story...

My dad used to get them for years too and then suddenly no more for him either. Anyway, feel better I know they are not fun.

Funny story... Back when I was in high school, a whole other lifetime ago, a convict escaped from the medium security prison. I was sitting in class when all the sudden, I see this guy in some sort of white uniform running up the street. About 30 seconds later, a policeman went past the window, presumably chasing after him on foot. I was the only person in my class that seemed to notice. The teacher just kept on teaching. It was funny because both of the men were only running at a slow jog and it looked like something from a cartoon. Afterward when I mentioned it to people, they acted like I was crazy. But on the news that night, there was the outside of my high school in the news story about them capturing the criminal.

Times have certainly changed. Nobody at that point would have even considered that this person would come in to the school and try to hurt us. What would he want with us?
pretty sure that scene would have been hilarious if the benny hill theme was in the background.

That would be because the U.S. twisted it's meaning so that everyone thinks of the U.S. when the word American is uttered. But you really can't blame us because "United States" is neither a glamorous name nor does it roll off the tongue easily. So, when you come on down... Welcome to America. We will gladly take your money. In fact we rely on @JenniferS to make regular donations to help balance our budget. She might even get a medal from Congress. :)
We won't even mention that you cannot be welcomed to a place that you already reside in. We are that kind of big hearted people.
why not "USA" ?

Good grief!
Now, along with finding out that stone burns, I'm now finding out everybody doesn't keep livestock in the house...?!?! o_O
Jeeess, what a week I'm having...!!!

This is a true story, years ago on our news channel. I couple were trying to sell their million dollar home, with no luck. It seems they let cows, pigs and chickens come in and out of their home. No explanation was given as to why they did this. I couldn't believe it when I first heard it. I watched the 10 o'clock news. And sure enough it was repeated with no explanation.

Would that be pronounced like 'you sa' or 'us a' or would we stretch a 3 letter thing in to 3 syllables like 'U, S, A'

This is going to be a pretty unhappy place to live unless we all stop thinking the worst of everyone and being afraid of our own shadow. It kinda makes me sad to just think about it.
