Good morning and happy Wednesday. Great news my dh said we'll try and upgrade. He does want to do both UNI and Disney sans children. He also said something about trying to keep both park's passes up. Now I'm wondering what did the boys do to him as he said their next trip would be their last with us in front of them and neither one even made a face. He was serious about the first part but I'm thinking the second part was a threat. Gee what could my little angels have done? Last time he sounded like that was when they got into a fist fight.:eek::banghead: Boys are just shorter men sometimes! Anyhoo have a magical day.
I'm so glad for you, I know you are looking forward to doing both parks, I'm happy when things work out!:joyfull::joyfull::joyfull:

Good news: hand is in splint again. I can type! Wonderful feeling. Still have to cover for showering as one of my incisions has not heeled and bled when doctor took the cast off. Arm is actually less swollen now than it was before the surgery, although my hand is pretty swollen. My arm looks smaller, which makes me wonder how long this problem was actually going on.

Bad news: I have a large lawn ornament for a car. Fluid for the power steering is leaking.:grumpy:
Glad for you hand, bad for the car.

I've come home to worse, on the milder side swim suits and beach towels in competition bags isn't pleasant. Worst end, ManChild getting sick in his bed when small and him just moving DS to another bed and leaving it. :cyclops:
That's definitely worse. Yuck. DH handles all the pukey stuff because he knows if he doesn't, he'll be cleaning up after me, too. He banishes me when one of the kids gets sick. So I really can't complain. Perspective.

On a side note, I find it very amusing that the censor doesn't like my use of the phrase "Chicken b r e a s t".

I just got call from the middle school nurse. That's never good! it seems some genius was snapping a towel in gym and got my ds in the eye area, she say it looks ok and my ds wants to go back to class. Middle school boys:rolleyes::banghead: The Beverly Goldberg in me wants to go and give my baby a hug and take him home. I'm going to worry until he gets home! He said he wants to stay and ride the bus home.

So sorry for this call. I hope you can do something to make the day go faster! Sympathy.

My Mom's last trip with me to Mexico she went from Chicago Airport straight to the hospital with Montezuma's revenge. They gave her a 50/50 chance of surviving my 17th Birthday, as she was that ill. There were water cooler bottles in the hallway we drank from. One day towards the end of our trip we saw they mid-day refilling the water cooler bottles from the garden hose. We started brushing our teeth and rinsing with Coke. Doc's assumed that is where she picked up the ecoli given the pathogens found in the lab. I'm hard pressed to believe it is a myth.
That is appalling!! How long ago was that??

I had to read this book in high school, so I knew that it would haunt me. I think, though, it haunts me more now than it did back then. I think also because now I've seen movies about the Holocaust, so more of a mental picture there.

Do not watch "Boy in the Striped Pajamas". Just...don't. I still have not recovered.
The book of Boy in the Striped Pajamas is even harder to get through. I think because books go so much more in depth than movies and it takes more than a couple of hours, you really live in that space while you're reading it. I also read Forgotten Voices of the Holocaust, which was devastating.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
What were you doing on a golf course? Was the wedding reception at a clubhouse?
Yes.
From their website:

"H***** Hall is our most popular indoor reception venue. This hall is situated inside of a century old Ontario barn and boasts rustic post-and-beam architecture, gleaming hardwood floors, a copper hooded fireplace and panoramic windows with views of the golf course. While this hall was once a hayloft it has been restored and outfitted for a modern service and can accommodate up to 120 guests for a plated dinner service and up to 150 for a cocktail and Hors D’oeuvres reception."

Never read it but I have read Night. Have any of you read Room? That's a hard one to read but a really good book also.

Sympathy like. Not just middle school boys, I'm afraid. We had an incident last year with a boy snapping DS with a towel in gym...they were in 2nd grade. Hope your day flies by so you don't need to worry for long!

My kids had a free day today for inservice and it's Kid's book week here, so we went to the book store and they got to do a quiz about books and got to rummage through a little barrel for a prize. Lots of fun. And then they got to do experiments because the theme this year is strange but true, so they got to make a tornado in a jar, make raisins dance, take the "m" off of m&ms, etc. Lots of fun. Then we were waiting for the bus to go home and we kept hearing sirens...TONS of them. We must have heard 7 or 8 fire trucks and ambulances, but we couldn't see where they were. I just looked it up and a crematorium caught fire because a door on one of the ovens didn't close all the way. 150 people in the building for a funeral at the time, but no one was hurt. I can't imagine that though...it's already a tough day and then you get evacuated because of a fire. I bet those poor people are emotionally exhausted! At least they were all ok!
