I want it! All of the black cats I've ever owned have been incredibly affectionate and sweet. My next cat (when my current one passes - but not soon, I hope) will be a black one.
Between the tabbies and the tuxedos, our tuxedos have been far more intelligent. Black cats (and days) are also harder to adopt out because of superstitions.

In that case, I'll get a black dog and cat and pretend to other people it's a grim.

Farmers market sounds good, in off to a craft fair soon. A little jealous of the library book fair, our library is really small so all of our books for sale are on one shelf and super used. I love the library though, I'm just glad we are part of a bigger consortium (part of a five county system) so there is a large variety of books to order from.

We are turning on our heat today too, it was 36 here this morning.
We are getting a new library soon, we out grew ours for over 5 years now. The new one is being built, I hope it doesn't take too long!

Our library is less than a mile from our home so we borrow movies often. (We just got done with Father Brown season 1.) Twice a year they have a major book sale to raise funds for different programs. Imagine table after table at a book sale big enough to fill the SciFi. The sale runs three days, then after the third day they save whatever books are in good condition and they go into storage for the next sale. The ones that aren't the best and leftover magazines go to a paper recycling company that pays the library an amount per pound.

Our local university donates a lot of books too and every year there are almost new text books and they are sold for $2! (Everytime school ends the university alumni bring an empty semi trailer on campus for a weekend and the students fill it with whatever they don't want to take with them. The alumni go through everything and donate it to various charities. All books go to the library.) I usually go to the sale and fill a couple boxes with cookbooks. Of course whatever I don't really want for my collection gets donated back to the library.
So nice of you to do the donation. I wish I lived near you. I love cookbooks, I can spend hours reading them in the winter month's. I can't always have the ingredients in the recipes; but I can dream.:joyfull::hungry:

Cats are wonderful when you're sick. They feel they must take care of their human.

The day of my surgery, cat kept looking at me worriedly, like, "My human is hurt!" She basically spent the day on my lap. She's since calmed down, although she still follows me around and usually is in the same room with me.
My doggie Wiggles did that when I had a serious surgery, she was on the bed with me for days. Then she kept by my side for days after that. Animals, are our angels, and saints.

Okay, I'm ready to share my experience at the Doc's on Thursday. I'll try to make this brief. The Doctor stopped in to say "hi". We weren't seeing him, it was a nurses appointment to get another blood draw. So we were sitting in the waiting room, and Scott came in and said "you're here for the flu shots. Hubby and I said, no we did that per Doc instructions, to go and get elsewhere, as they had no over 60 shots. He asked again, you are here for the flu shot, yada , yada, yada. No, we are here for a blood draw. He said I have to consult with the Doctor about this. So we wait and wait and wait. He comes, back and sure enough we were supposed to get the blood draw. (idiot) We may be old, but we aren't dumb, yet!;) We go in the coldest room to get a blood draw how dumb is that? Okay, so after two pokes we get the draw. Yea, ready to go home. In comes Scott we need a pneumonia shot. Okay , go right ahead. He leaves, we wait for another 45 minutes. Meanwhile the other people keep coming in and saying you aren't done yet? No, we are waiting. This goes on with several people telling Scott in the hallway that we are still waiting. Mind you, we haven't said anything about how long it has been because we sensed there was some sort of emergency going on. Scott finally comes in and gives me my flu shot. I could tell he wasn't happy. Now, I know how to relax my arm from years of getting shots. He took my arm took the needle way back and slammed it into my arm. Now I have this very large bruise. I've never had a shot administered this way. Is that normal? I'm not sure what to do. The Doc doesn't know what happened. Am I making a mountain out of a mole hill. As you know , last week we were forgotten about, and spent three hours in the office and got nothing done.

I would love a cat, but hubby had cats when he was young, and now he is very allergic. I've never had a kitty, but would love to have one they seem very curious ,mystifying and sweet all at the same time. My friend had a cat that would walk on a leash, just like a dog.

Please let your doctor know. I take it Scott is the nurse or PA? Regardless, your treatment is going to have an effect on your future visits - you will be reluctant to make an appointment in the future. It is sooo important to have a good rapport with your doctor - and that includes any issues you may have with his/her staff. You may not be the only patient who has been having issues - but the doctor can't fix a staff problem unless he knows there is one..
