Reasons to stay out of stores on Thanksgiving Day:

Posted in employee breakroom.

Can't "like" that post.
Retail has gotten to the point where it is just plain idiotic.
I experienced it progressively getting worse even over the course of the 4+ short years I was in it.
And, places like The Disney Store were no exception.
Just plain nutso.

I'm not surprised. Most people outside of New Mexico don't know what green Chile is or don't like it. It's funny, people will eat Indian, all types of Asian, and other ethnic food, but green Chile is something they won't even try. It's not even adventurous maybe that is why people say no to it.

Me likey green/Hatch chiles...!

So nice out today! 65 degrees and sunny. I'm just chilling outside until my next class because tomorrow will be cold again.

Sunny, and same temp here, right now.
Supposed to be in the 60's and 70's for the next 10 days with only a chance of rain Mon.-Wed. of next week.

My Disney Store source said that all stores were told to open no earlier than 8pm on Thanksgiving. 8PM at the earliest.

Not as bad as some others...but still kinda lousy. I think it may have been midnight last year

When I first started at TDS back in '09 we had all of Thanksgiving day off and the store opened at the regularly scheduled 10a the next morning. We opened at midnight the year I left.

Very sad, but apparently he has been ill with an undisclosed illness for the past 6 months.

in other news.. Someone "purchased" my older DSLR camera mere minutes after I put it on sale on ebay.
I'm still suspicious, as the buyer is a new account registered TODAY.
but already sent me the address where to sent it.
Now I'm waiting for the payment.

I would love to sell on ebay. Well, I have one thing to sell..lol. But I guess because I don't know how and getting your money is an issue so I kept putting it off. Which the seller pays paypal and paypal pays you, yes but I guess I'm lazy.

Seems the buyer is definitively a scammer.
He hasn't answered anything after I sent him the invoice.

but he definitively has a valid address in WA. google street shows a nice photo of the house.

I really hope I can sell this. I'm eyeing the new D750 for black friday.

We're still getting it. Was to start around 2pm and started at 930am. Nasty sideways snow with high winds and icrpellets mixed in.

It has slowed but there is ice pellets still. I was driving all day. Fi4st 4x4 day.​

Or you just stay indoors 9 months out of the year...

I'd say six months. Yeah we go from place to place in the car but for the majority of the time I'm only outside to shovel, or to get to the car or into a building that my car takes me too. I'm not a fan. I'm better than most, I generally walk the Pup twice a day, the town recognizes Walt but me, I'm too bundled for anyone to know who is under all that winter wear.

Yeah,and Kmart came out with a statement in response to the memo that doesn't seem to match the photo's.

“Again, we reiterate that our stores do their very best to staff with seasonal associates and those who volunteer to work holidays. Seasonal associates are told upon hire of our holiday store hours and we make every effort to accommodate associate shift requests during this time. Associate schedules are posted, on average, two weeks in advance – including for holiday schedules. All associates are compensated time and a half pay for the hours they work on Thanksgiving Day. We continue to express deep appreciation in advance to all associates who will be working Thanksgiving and Black Friday.”

While I'm sure each store is different, it is hard to believe since they were responding to those management notices posted. I for one will not shop on Thanksgiving Day.
