Ahh, that is horrible. I have only used mine once and now I am worried.

We have two that are over 15 years old. Both came with 3 year warranties. My only advice is too look at where they are manufactured and to read the reviews online.

Ginger Cream Oreo verdict: Meh!
The biscuit is the same as Golden Oreo, therefore lovely.
The cream centre however, is another matter.

First, as a trained cookie connoisseur, I sniffed the cookie first.
No hint of ginger, just smelled like Golden Oreos.

It wasn't until I bit into the cookie that the ginger essence was released. By then, it was too late. My mouth was filled with a definite ginger flavour, if ginger were in fact created in a chemical laboratory. Like maybe a Dow lab.

Doesn't mean I didn't eat three of them though. You know, because I'd already put my grubby hands all over them and it would be gross to put them back in the package. And don't forget, I'd already kind of sniffed them, all Stitch-like.

Oooooooh a chili dog would be just the thing to clear this taste from my mouth.

So I wandered in to WDW discussion today. Saw a locked thread called "Let's see if we can keep this PG-13." I should know just not to click on it because I probably don't want to know, but curiosity got the better of me. Well, I probably looked like this after reading it...

Lesson: do not wander into locked threads with titles about keeping something PG-13.

I actually wandered into it for the same morbid curiosity. I did post in the thread on a sidebar topic, wouldn't go there with the OP topic...just wouldn't, ever. You could see The Mom was wrestling with to close or not to close.
Wise. It would not end well, this way it ended before it became icky.

Another interesting thread I replied to this week was the thought of an Adult only resort. I never thought of it but I did find the notion intriguing.

My first was a Noma. No probs.
The second was a Noma. Trash.
Can't remember the brand of the current one. Might be a Kirkland (Costco) or I got it at Canadian Tire. Not sure.

No proof of course, but I'd bet that bag of Ginger Cream Oreos that they all were "made in China".

Worst two lines I hear every time I watch HGTV's House Hunters, never fails..."This space is great for entertaining" or "There is not much room for entertaining".

Goodness gracious, does everyone in this world except me entertain 24 hours a day???

My house is not set up for entertaining, it was designed to be lived in. It is awkward for parties but a great place to live in. It has very defined rooms, no Great Room which I am happy for.

Ha! This is hysterical. My expression was exactly the same when I read that thread the other day! :hilarious:

Sounds like you have a comfortable, welcoming home, for you and your family. :) That's what family home is supposed to be, not primarily a function space for entertaining guests, such as you'd find at a restaurant or conference center.

I will continue to tweak the lights and ornaments daily, right up until Christmas Day.

I am hesitant to place the tree skirt though, as those idiot cats ate a lot of the sequins last year. :arghh:

That tree really is beautiful. The angel is lovely. The subtle color scheme of the lights, along with the soft white/cream shade of the ornaments is reminiscent of the Victorian era. Also, the other few different ornaments that you placed in strategic locations, added some additional visual interest. I'd say you succeeded in your design theme! ;)

Guessing the majority lacked musical talent? Yikes! So glad those days are gone. Just wait until middle school when they think they are 23 at dances. Oy. I chaperoned one and only one between 2 kids.

In 20+ years now in public education, I can't even count the number of high school dances I've chaperoned. I've seen things. Horrible, horrible things.

And, personally, I'm glad they are singing along to Let It Go - it would be just about the only popular song of the last 5 years with more than 4 chords....

I want to invite myself over for Turkey! Can I ride a horse while you're cooking? It has been a while.
We're all meeting up at Mom's for turkey day, so it will be a traditional baked turkey. I'm heading down to the western burbs today for a wedding - just waiting for the temps to warm up a bit - had a little freezing rain this morning....

I'd say about 8-9/10ths of the homes we design have a heavy focus on entertaining. Kitchen/dining/great room all wide open to each other. Game rooms with blown out, pub-like bars, and wine rooms. Large, tiered home theaters. Man caves with picture windows to a garage with prized cars or motorcycles. The list goes on. :)
