Close is relative.
I am currently in a whole other country, remember?

Gonna go Google Windermere.
I only have a year or so to whittle it down.

Yeah it is relative, I can fly to Orlando in 2.5 hours. If I ultimately achieve my dream, ----->me I want minutes not hour+ of driving to get there and back. As I age I desire less driving over more especially the way some of these maniac drivers in rental cars drive. Windermere is very appealing to me especially with that back cut through to drive on.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
Working on stringing the lights on what used to be a pre-lit tree.

Sadly, I got the brilliant idea to actually put some effort into it, and zip-tie the lights in place.
After more than an hour of back-breaking work, I have completed 1 1/2 of 8 strings. Yikes.
On the plus side, I started at the bottom, which is the most labour intensive part.

Long story short - not having fun.
Hubby says he'll drive the boys in the morning, so I'll probably stay up long enough to at least finish the lights.

Another brilliant idea - I will permanently place 7 of the 8 strings, and then leave one loose just to fill out whatever ends up being the front of the tree.

The fruits of my labour so far:

in other news, I finally got my imported Galaxy Note 4.
To replace my ageing Galaxy S3.
The note feels incredibly fluid compared to my older S3. I wonder how much crap did my older phone provider forced into the android OS.
Also, I changed because the battery is inflated.. and purchasing a new one costs a big fraction of the used phone..

So I decided to just sell the old phone and buy a new one.

Not using the hot tub tonight, that's for sure.

Hahaaa...!
I've actually been in a hot tub during a heavy snow! :)
We were on a ski trip in Avon/Beaver Creek Colorado and stayin' in a condo. We'd been skiin' all day and headed to the hot tub to chill and enjoy some adult beverages before we called it a night. We were already in the tub when it started comin' down heavy. It was a hoot! :)
Good times!

Yep, many a night in a hot tub in Colorado. Fine going in, run back to condo nippy.

We used to stay at Clearwater Beach and drive to Disney when we were younger. (Can't believe I just said that.)
I'm the one who wants to be closer to Mickey. Hubby wants to be closer to the beach.
Given that we each already have a 70+ minute commute to work (each way), 90-100 minutes to see Mickey doesn't seem that bad. Also, perhaps we could drive to WDW, spend the night at a cheapie hotel, and then go back to the condo on the second night.

Anyways, we're a whole year off from making any kind of decision.
I had just felt so discouraged. That ride along Sand Lake Road was pretty scary.

And having been a Realtor for more than 20 years, I certainly second your notion.

Were you on W. Sand Lake Road, in Orlando? Maybe 25 years ago, west of I-4, (Turkey Lake Road area), that area was very nice. (Stayed in a villa resort, but the area was a comfortable mixture of homes and businesses, with open spaces.) W. Sand Lake Road is very long, so perhaps it varies, depending upon what part of it you visit.

I haven't been there in ages. I know that all over Orlando there's been all kinds of changes (both good and bad). (I also used to love International Drive before they put in a bunch of tacky businesses here and there.)

A friend of mine grew up in Clermont, and she recalls a much quieter time, with orange groves, and country living. (The Florida Citrus Tower, built back in the 1950s, is there--that was a fun, roadside attraction. I visited there maybe 15 years ago for a diversion one afternoon, from Disney.) She said that once the MK came in the early 70s, things started to change; however, the really noticeable changes (construction, more traffic, etc.) in the overall area happened more toward the mid-late, 80s and beyond.
