When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
You have the tolerance of Job. I would have shipped his little butt off to Military School back the first time with 4 credits.
Looked into it. Barely had the $13K, and there was a giant warning that no student could be held against their will, and no refunds would be given if the student did not complete the year.

I blame my mother. Everything went to hell in a hand basket when she croaked. My boys had NEVER been in trouble at school, and yet, in the week following her funeral, they managed to rack up three suspensions between them. In ONE week!

But yes, I am patient. There is a light at the end of the tunnel.
And my Hubby rocks - except for the Frozen Singalong thing.

I have my brother at home while my parents are out. He was doing something and got himself in trouble. In an attempt to distract me, he tries to sing "Do You Want to Build a Snowman", I guess hoping that he won't be in trouble anymore. It was funny. But it didn't work.

Ha! I really like your brother. He is obviously pretty darn smart to think up these plots.

My DD friend that teaches at a Middle School around here posted, reason 163 to be a teacher.

Chaperoning middle school dances. :depressed:

My latest broken (?) toe:
Excuse the puckered look of the other little piggies. I just came in from driving the GF home after all (don't ask) in my flip flops, of course.

Yeah we have some real good military schools here that they don't get to choose to leave, defeats the point. Parents are the legal guardians and they can only remove them. Beyond the amount of school work their spare time is doing chores, there isn't a maintenance staff it is the students. They go to school, they do their homework, they do their chores. Parents can visit about once a month for an hour or two. There are no visits home until they break the behaviors that got them there. I have a few friends that went that route, 2 out of the three kids my friend adopted went off to military school in high school. The third decided not to mimic the behavior of the older two. You guys in Canada are really nice. :)

How is the oldest one doing with his return to school? Have those grades improved?

He says so. I'll wait until the mid-term report card comes home.

I've known your stance on education ever since I've known you. It is more than admirable, and you know I really mean that. I, for one, know you will never waiver, nor should you. I was just relating how it all came about for me in my particular case. :)

And, yes, I liked that post, too. :)

Giggle. Yep you have seen me through some good rants over the years after I come home from a bad board meeting or a staff member behaves badly. But I do have decorum unlike another fellow board member did from another district in N. IL. She jumped the duos and into the audience to tell a very unruly, disruptive staff member to shut up. Secretly I was pretty proud of her. :joyfull:
