Oh my. no fun.

The center of Bill made landfall at 11:45 this morning. Seems like Houston (for now) didn't get quite as bad of an initial hit as they thought it might, and all we've had, so far, is one pretty short heavy band of showers around 1p.
Coastal and inland areas between Houston and Matagorda Island (where the center made landfall) seem to be getting it pretty bad, right now.
Relieved to hear it's not as bad as it could have been, stay safe.

So has all this rain changed up your normal schedule? I can't tell if all the roads in your area look like that, or if it's specific areas only. If it's all the roads, I imagine no one could drive anywhere until the waters subside. At least it seems like you keep a stockpile of food at your house, so you're probably o.k. for a few days of not driving to the grocery store.

I hope the weather conditions improve for you.

I feel the same way about my cat. Wish she would never have to die. :( Thankfully, she's 7, we thought, and vet has confirmed, that she's physically as healthy and active as a 3 year old cat, and the vet says as long as nothing major happens, we can probably keep her going for a long time. She gets more exercise than an indoor cat usually gets (thanks to her randomly running around the house for no apparent reason) and she's a good weight, so she's in very good condition. Vet said the way she's going, she could live until she's 20 or older. :)

I lost a cat when he was 10 from kidney failure, so I can imagine what it must be like for owners of large dogs. His life was way too short.:(

Your cat sounds funny. She and Jack share something in common: they both run randomly around the house for no apparent reason! Sometimes, I'll be downstairs on the sofa watching tv or reading. Out of the blue, Jack will barrel up and down the stairs a few times, then stop to catch his breath, with this deranged look of accomplishment on his face and look over to me, almost looking for approval. It's almost like he's saying, "Aren't I the most amazing dog in the universe?!" :p

Yikes. I'm guessing those aren't normal bodies of water...

Sorry, never got to my laptop.

This is a new river off the river. Out of all my pictures I took over the last two days (and it is raining again) this was my favorite. It is the overflow and you can see it has current. Isolated like this it actually looks pretty.

This is a grass field and picinic grove where summer camps are held during the week.

These are part of our riverwalk and the brownish isn't really water, it is concrete sidewalks and adjacent neighbors backyards. If you look closely, there are ducks swimming up to the left. At least they are enjoying themselves. There are fish swimming on the sidewalk, just couldn't get close enough to snap a shot without falling in.

This is the hub of town, a round paver brick stage and on the other side is concrete benches, it is similar to a stage and then seating along the riverside. At least it was constructed to go under water. I'll have to take a photo of it some day when it reappears.

This is the disappearing sidewalk that leads into the hub.

On Monday you could only get around a few ways, lived here 30 years so I know what goes first. I was actually on my way home from the store when the huge rains started and continued. My DD had to find a different route home from work. After a few hours my road was gone, it looked like a creek, garage when I opened the door (dumb) the water went halfway into the garage and on the back of the property I had a lake. We have dips in the road through our town and those are still closed but getting better. Most of the main roads were open again by mid day Tuesday.

We are suppose to have some isolated big storms this morning and then later in afternoon. My potted plants are actually popping out of the soil. Fortunately the tomato plants were potted in April and the roots are keeping them down.

So sorry to hear that. Someone needs to turn off the water. For a while!
