Thanks. Sadly, the nails are no more. It was a high maintenance manicure that I kept for just the weekend. I tinted my nails a while back and have been covering them with nail polish, but don't feel like having to keep them polished while in Hawaii, so I soaked them in lemon juice, buffed them down, and got rid of the tint. Took me over two hours, but the tint is gone. Tonight I'll put some strengthening nail polish on them, and then might use 60 second polish on them while over there. Feels weird not wearing polish after months of always having it.

I know how you feel. I feel naked without polish! Except I'm lazy, every 4 weeks my friend and I go and get our nails done. Yea a few hours with no worries!

Sorry, we're not going until next August. EEEK I'm still over 365 days! At least we're planning.

In other news, yes, Florida....parents got arrested and kids into Child Protective Services for letting their 11 year old play outside by himself.

Please tell me there's more to it than that!

Thanks. It's almost sad it's not that big a deal here anymore. We've gotten to the point where it's expected! I am going to make him a TC veggie platter over the weekend. That's more for having the most AR points for his grade, yea first time!!! He's always been in the top 4, but 1st time on top YEA! Every year since he started school it's always the same 4 that win all the academic awards (plus one who moved away and one who moved in) The 5 that are here are having a big party on Sunday. NOT AT MY HOUSE! YEA!

We've had one of the driest Mays on record, and then, rain every day for the past 10 days - much of it all day/all night, and quite heavy.

This particular photo is of St. Paul's Ave. which dips low under the main trunk railroad bridge overhead.

What's most interesting to me, is the rain cascading from the yard on the right. You can't see it, but there is a 6 or 7 storey apartment building there. 30 years ago, when Hubby and I both worked at the same pizza place, Mr. Fletcher lived in that building, and would place the same delivery order twice/week. He always ended his order with, "Not too much cheese".

I showed this same pic to Mike, and he said, "I wonder if Mr. Fletcher got flooded out."
30 years after the fact. Dude's probably dead by now.

May, for us, was not only the wettest month on record ever (in NOAA's 121 years of record keeping) here in Texas, but, also the wettest month ever in the lower 48 states. Our 5-year Texas drought was erased in a month. Just nuts.

And, now we have a tropical storm threatening...

Again OUCH! Sympathy like!

Woof. If this was the way things were when I was a kiddo, my folks would still be in jail...

Mine too! At 11 during the summer I walked 1/2 mile each way to swimming or music lessons by myself. It was a very safe neighborhood.
