RoT Rally here this weekend. Heavy police presence. Police Chief has warned anyone who wants to try and pull another Waco.
Hopefully, nothing more than the usual few traffic-related deaths.
So far, so good, and fingers crossed... :cautious:
Speaking from the point of view of someone who had protests turn to riots way too close to home...they cannot be too careful in this day and age.

Oy. :mad:

Waco maybe a fine place to live, still it just makes me cringe every time the city is mentioned.

Totally agree. Although there were threats of retaliation earlier on, the reports I've heard recently say the threat is low. But, the Police Chief said if they start something, they're fully prepared to take them down.
Again, fingers crossed.
Fortunately, although they're all over the place during the weekend, we don't live anywhere near any of the major events.

What's really sad is that Baltimore City is still recovering from all of this. The tourist areas are all fine (Inner Harbor, Camden Yards, Fells Point, etc.) but in other areas, small businesses still haven't reopened, there's been an increase in crime, and many are leaving the city. The city has had to dip into their rainy day fund. It's quite sad. I would not wish it upon anyone. I hope everything in Texas stays peaceful.

Sorry to jump in but needing help and looking for opinions.

We've had a Sam's Club membership for 10 years. It just expired and a Costco opened today in our town. I checked it out - still torn. Anyone out there who has done both, can you give opinion on which you prefer and why? Costco has better quality (it seems) but not as much quantity for the price of Sam's (so far as I see)... Thoughts?

We don't have Costco near us, so I'm not of much help. Our friends like Sams Club, but keep in mind, they are owned by Walmart.

@JenniferS loves Costco.

Sam's Club pulled up stakes in Canada with only 3 weeks' notice, and no refunds, only the (already existing) offer to honour membership Stateside. Sam's Club therefore, can kiss my big toe.

I do, however, LOVE me some Costco. We have the Executive Membership - costs us $113. Every July we get a cheque for $180-$250, so essentially it's free for us.

Can't wait until we get one in our city. It's a 60km (40+ mile) round trip for us. Worth it!
