of the world. *evil laughter*

My former dumb governor, seriously (he said he wanted a Christmas tree to be a holiday tree and other things) announced he was running today for US president (along with everybody else) so I figured I would announce too.

Oh yah, the holiday tree thing, and it's not just him, believe me. I'm really trying not to go into a rant here, but it makes me crazy when certain people think they can rename something because they don't like it. it's about as stupid as someone trying to rename a Menorah, a holiday candle display, you know?! I can't stand the pc crowd, and this is supposedly a free country. Let people observe what they want to observe.

For some reason this reminds me of a lake in Webster, MA, called Lake Chaubunagungamaug. The more accurate translation of the Algonquin word means, Fishing Place at the Boundaries -- Neutral Meeting Grounds. But, the more common translation/meaning is, "You fish on your side, I'll fish on my side, and No One fishes in the middle." Words of wisdom.

Preach it Minnie! I don't get the whole holiday tree thing either. I don't see why it's offensive to call something what it actually is.

Hee hee . . . :p Most of us enjoy our silly topics for what they are--silly!! :hilarious: I know I don't look for any deeper meanings, other than the present lunacy at hand. :D We enjoy our little scare fests about the most inane subjects, and I wouldn't change a thing!! ;)
Yes, I agree, but, sometimes I worry that so many people will take all this trending behavior to heart and embrace it when there is no need to complicate our lives over every little imagined (or even real) possibilities. Life is way to short for that. I look back at my 67 years and wonder to myself... where did it go? Just yesterday I was graduating from High School and now I'm reading Obits to see if any of my classmates are showing up.

I have a daughter that is obsessive about carbs. OK, I can see that they can sometimes be overdone, but, in the sake of "good health and long life" she has given carbs up completely. Know what? That girl is sick all the time. Nothing serious, but, she must have 15 colds a year, is always tired out, has headaches and has to stop doing whatever she is doing to rest. I am always asking her which one of her life's she is planning to use to relax and have a good time. That is the danger of all this overblown concern about every little thing. Things like body oils on towels and floating molecules of, well you know... should not even enter our consciousness.

I realize that there are some things out there that are a threat, and they are real, let's not be making things up just to worry about how long we are going to live, but to worry instead about how much we get out of that life. So that is why, once in awhile, I get concerned about the amount of insignificant worries that we, as humans, tend to throw out there as a real concern.

Sorry for the sermon, back to the silliness. :)

I love Keeping Up Appearances but I'm with you on Are You Being Served being even better.
Oh yes!!! They were really big on using lines that could be taken two different ways!!! Sadly I don't see that being shown anymore around me. I have the dvd set for Keeping Up Appearances, maybe I need to pick up Are You Being Served... ;)

Last trip my little guy learned how to say hello and thank you at almost all of the EPCOT countries. Every trip we take they have to learn something new.
Our grandsons have gone since the oldest was three and youngest , since he was born. They learned so much, and the oldest came out of his shyness at Disney. They met people from other countries, learned country's custom's, especially with the interaction with the CM's , at Epcot. It's been a positive experience for both of them.

Just ordered my ticket to the D23 Expo! My email conformation said the ticket should be delivered within a month of the Expo.

Does anyone here have advice about going to Disneyland? Any advice on hotels? I've been looking on the Disneyland section here and on a certain other forum I'm a member of that rhymes with nice hat ;), but I'm also interested to hear any advice you guys might have.
Have a wonderful time, I hope you learn something good about what's next.:)

To hop or not to hop that is the question! So far we've decided to get 10 days and the WP&M, now we're thinking about hopping. What do you guys and ladies think? THNX
Our family, now just kids love to park hop, morning in on park, have lunch there, go to the next park, evening meal there. It worked for all of us for many years. With fast pass, I'm not sure. Unless you like to ride the fast pass in the first park, then see what's available in the second.

Not making excuses as I am not a fan of this. However, this is common practice nowadays. Including training their replacements. I love my company and they do a lot of good. But they also did something similar. We started to outsource much of our general IT support to Accenture. And these individuals are based out of India. Did something similar to another branch, which is now out of the Philippines.

It is so much cheaper to outsource these roles. Ridiculously cheaper. And when you are a global company and not just an American company anymore, this happens a lot. Again, not exactly a fan but I understand the reasons.
Hubby's company also did this.

Just chimin' in real quick here...

My vote is for gettin' Park hopper.
We've always gotten it and have never regretted it!
So much more freedom and so many more options by not bein' tied to just one Park for the entire day.
On at least a coupla' occasions, we've been to all four Parks on the same day...!!!!!!! :joyfull: :)
