I’ll share a weird story. One time we in the grand Floridian lobby late at night. We had just taken the elevator upstairs and as we got out this couple got in and the woman said in THE MOST stereotypical upperclass i am Too good for this British accent “it used to be fancy!” As soon as they were in the elevator and the door closed we all started laughing.

I was in Hawaii back in 2015. I was 20 at the time. I had popped a ligament in my thumb, which I later had fixed surgically.

I was in this open air mall, and this surfer dude walks up to me. No lie, blonde mop of hair, lanky build, super tanned, no shirt, board shorts, carrying a surf board. He points to my hand, which is in a custom-made hard brace.

"Oh, what happened?"
"I tore a ligament in my thumb"
"Oh no. Does it hurt?"
"Well, yeah."
"Oh. Well, if it's alright, I'd like to pray with you."
"Uh, no." And I walked away.

The funniest part about this was my mother was standing right there and this guy did not care. Flirted with me in front of my mother. I'm like, seriously, in front of my mother?

She thought it was hysterical. And it's not the only time I've been flirted with in front of her, but that is the story.

Meanwhile, my dad SAW THE GUY APPROACH ME and didn't think it was a good time to come over. Useless.

Yeah, those are just the funny stories. We tell them and laugh about them because we're like "really? Did they think that was going to work?"

I've had instances of male attention that was most definitely unwanted, and those are not stories I tell and laugh about. I think that's true of every woman sadly.

But there are good men out there. The ones from the funny stories may have even turned out to eventually be good partners who just did some really dumb stuff before getting their footing. 🤣

Yeah I know. But there’s an equal amount of people I’m personally ashamed of of as a male.
