Ours cost more than that; but if the price you're paying works reasonably well for you, then go with it.

P.S.: I hate kale.
If we can put aside the unhealthy fixation for cold and snow, that highlighted statement of yours proves that occasionally you are thinking clearly. Let me guess, you took your pills today, right?

Just a short note... I live in what is considered the "south" and I am more than ready for the end of the winter like weather.

Never ceases to amaze me the "love" people have for their old cars (and the lucky ones who have the financial means to restore them). Plus, there's always a backstory that the owners enjoy sharing, and the nostalgia points resonate with many. Speaking of cars, restorations, etc. --

Mecum will be in Glendale soon (March 18-22). As usual, the Friday/Saturday afternoon vehicles tend to be the most interesting. Link below to the lots; I'll have to check that out later.

As always, thanks for the heads up Minnie, and I’ll be watchin’…!!! :)

As far as those restorations go…
Usually, fun stories…!!! :)
I’ve posted before that my folks owned a green ‘57 Chevy with the Power Pack, and they traded it in on a white ‘64 Olds F-85, with the 330 c.i. V-8, just after we moved from San Antonio to Huntsville, AL in 1966. And, as I’ve mentioned before, my Pop could still kick himself for gettin’ rid of the ‘57 Chevy…!!! ;) I have no recollection of riding in the ‘57 Chevy, but definitely in the F-85, over many years.
My Pop would punch it from time to time, as it had some good stuff in the get-up-and-go department, and be admonished by Mom, but he’d just say he was “Tryin’ to blow the ‘soot’ out of it” and smile…!!!!! :hilarious:
Trying to find a reasonably priced ‘57 Chevy these days is pretty much out of the question, but a ‘64 F-85 might not be, so much.
Funny thing is, I pulled into the parking garage at the firm one morning about 2 years ago, and there was an F-85 parked in our IT dudes spot. I went upstairs and confirmed it was a ‘64, told him it was a car from my childhood, and asked him if he was willing to sell…no dice.
May hafta’ try him again…!!! ;)
Anyway, thanks again for the heads up, and pics of both cars twins below, except our F-85 had nicer wheel covers and whitewalls…!!! :)

ETA…
It still kinda’ amazes me how much car body styles changed during the short 7-year period between 1957 and 1964…!!! :geek:

You know, heck all of us know, that eggs are more expensive then they were just a few months ago, but one has to stop looking at it by the dozen. I go by the price of each egg and the highest price I have ever seen throughout this whole twilight zone nightmare is 54 cents apiece (less for 18 instead of 12) and that is for Jumbo. Other than inedibles like Kale* it is one of the cheapest meals and even ingredients for a meal you can find. I have cut back on my usage but not by much. Once I hear that the flu thing is over and the chicken population had gotten back to normal, then if the prices don't go down, I will definitely find a way to purchase less, if at all. Right now I just see them as more expensive than before, but still a good deal.

Depending what you get, it can be $1 an egg here. We all know there's way too many choices for some foods.

A pound of store brand ground meat is $8 (not on sale). 90% lean. That has jumped in price. Your better off buying fake meat. I like Impossible better. I find it tastier.

Aldi 90 something lean organic, 6.50 a pound, sometimes lower when they have the 3 pack;) and we're partial to Beyond as it's a bit less meaty tasting

Aldi's hours are horrible though. I like to go to the market when no one is there. They open from 8:30 - 20:00. I could go after work (like near closing time for the store) but always afraid they will have nothing as in fruit and stuff.

Sorry, I intended to include this in my post but got called away, and then forgot it. Oh, well... Oldtimers Disease.

*Kale.... A plant with no flavor, no real nutritional value (can be compared to eating sawdust with sharp edges) that someone decided was the "thing to eat" but was just a fad which will end soon, I hope. It can be compared to a recent problem and our only real hope is if some form of Weed Flu kills it all off. I'm pretty sure that even Locusts are wise enough that they wouldn't touch it so that is probably our only hope.

Well, I have eaten a lot of eggs in my life and I never found one to be any different than the other so if some are willing to pay that when there is an alternative that is up to them. I will not pay that much ever. All of a sudden I will become a breakfast cereal fan. There's soon to be an excess of grains so those prices will probably lower.

Thank you for reminding me I needed to juice some kale today. I can't believe I almost forgot to do so
Anyhoo I would have remembered around lunch time but I wanted to get a jump on my day

Aldi has private customer service where I shop. When we deposit a quarter to get a shopping cart we before return it to the cart rack when finished shopping to get our quarter back. Enter the huge homeless population that live in their encampment in the woods behind the shopping mall. The guys stand all day in the parking lot and offer to bring your cart back to the front of the store and the guys earn the quarter.
