Thanks...I wasn't able to get the ones I wanted, but a couple other caught my eye. Ca ching!:D
That's my attitude when shoe shopping. If they don't have what you're looking for they will order a pair for you and ship it to your house, with free shipping! When my dh asks why I got an etra pair or 2 I just say I saved a whole lot of money, sale and free shipping!:D

a fine example where "leaders" have no idea yet they force others to do their bidding. right?

yikes!
We have a garage lake too. We live on heavy clay soil nothing penetrates. We have to have concrete too. Our clay is expansive...so it cracks every three years. Then we have to replace. I think someone on our Home Association owns a concrete plant.

Could. I don't. Nothing in there is worth that labor and all is insured. The driveway use to be stone and absorbed much of the water or at least it went away quickly. Then our fine leaders of our Hamlet decided it would look prettier if everything was paved and concreted. We were given 3 years to comply. Now we have Lake Garage.
These properties were not developed over a half century for this. New builds have drainage plans. When we moved here the roads all had deep ditches next to the road on both sides. Then our fine leaders decided to put in curbs and storm sewers. Nobody every had water in their homes with the ditches. Water was all carried over to the preserves. It worked so they had to break it. We are fortunate, we have an ejector pit in our home where most in the area went for the substantially cheaper sump-pumps. I'm not a fan of fixing things that are not broken.

Sounds to me more like they broke things that were already fixed. ;)

The carnivore that I am, I actually love tofu. Although, generally, not replacing my fowl. ;)
I remember that episode...hilarious...!!! :hilarious:

Every time tofu is mentioned I think about that episode of Everybody Loves Raymond.

I tried tofu once. It was one of the most disgusting things I've ever tasted. A couple years ago a very nice Chinese couple from church invited me to there house for dinner. They made several authentic Chinese dishes. Everything was very good except the tofu. It was really hard to eat all of it on my plate and act like I liked it. Somehow I managed to do it but I'm never trying tofu again.

til they hit near your house and get you powerless for a day.

anyway.. I love thunderstorms too. I used to sit in the balcony of my parents apartment to see the amazing lightning.

unfortunately, now live in a 2 story house... so no wide view anymore :(

We get tons of thunderstorms here. My French teacher, from France, was telling us that she had to adjust to all the thunderstorms. She also said her sister visited from France and was freaked out from the thunderstorms they were having. Her sister said "this can't be natural." It doesn't come across the same here in written form but I thought the way she told it was really funny.

Yes, our home association, now requires that we have so much blue grass in the front yard. In a desert.....I took out, all of our grass 15 years ago, I personally spent three month's doing that. I laid down, a cover and then put in 17 tons of rock...Yes, 17 tons! On top. We had a 6 year drought....and my water bill even in summer is only 20.00 bucks. We got a letter from the new "HOA " dictators...told us we had to put grass back. We got the written permission from the earlier HOA, during the drought to go ahead with their blessing. My hubby is a pack rat and saves all documents. I'm glad he did. We sent copy to new HOA. Good-by HOA. :D

Hmmm...?
Yep, she might like that, too. ;)
I love someone buying me a meal. Means I don't have to cook, and a fun time too. That's the best idea for a woman in her 60's. If she doesn't like to go out. Bring in a dinner with festive plates, napkins, silverware, and cups. That's a fun time too. I ask for an eat out basket for Christmas....My kids go to the dollar store, buy all the plates , etc. and brings in dinner, I like Steak And Shake. It's a nominal cost, or pizza, without cheese on my side. We party.....watch Disney movies...and I have a good meal, and entertainment to boot! They and the kids decorate a party box...for all the "trash". They take it home with them....Perfect for grandma....time with the family, good meal...etc. :D:D:D:D
