This was "Sometimes Island" near Mansfield Dam on Lake Travis, about 10 min. down the road from us, recently. Also referred to as "All-the-time Peninsula" in recent years...

Here's that same section of the lake at 11:15a this morning...

Oh, my goodness that looks so horrible and scary. I hate floods. They can take your breath away, and property. I've experienced that in Kansas City. I get a panic attack, seeing all the destruction. I pray that we don't have anymore destruction, in the world , from floods. Life gets overwhelming , at times.

Yes, it does. I'm glad that @donaldtoo and his family are o.k. I don't know much at all about Texas, but anytime now I hear about something near Austin, my ears perk up.

@seahawk7 , did you go to the character breakfast at the Swan over the weekend? I know you were considering it, and when I saw that you had that picture from the boat near the International Gateway, I was wondering if you had come back from the Swan.

I liked your pictures from The Land. On my last day (last Thursday), I took the Behind the Seeds tour (again--I've done it at least 6 times over the past 10 years). I also had a coupon from a Birnbaum's book I have, and that gave me $3 off the admission--it's up to $20 for adults now, for that tour. (I remember when it was around $12.) Anyway, I love that tour and think it's one of the best 1-hour blocks of time I spend at WDW. It's very informative, and I like learning about plants, IPM (integrated pest management, versus chemicals on plants), and lots of other cool things. The guide had just graduated from the Univ. of Florida, and he was very knowledgeable about all kinds of plants and growing procedures.

Loved all your pictures of food!!! Good selections, too!! I like the desserts of the chocolate parfait and cherry tart from France, and the waffle dessert from Norway looked awesome! :joyfull:

I don't think that was a flood, that was a lake filling back up after dropping down in water for many years. It was a good thing.

Hubby and I did the Behind the Seeds tour, finally, in June of 2014. I had been wanting to do the tour for a really long time. It was a lot of fun, and hubby even got to release some of the lady bugs. It would be a tour I would do again definitely!

The Bachelorette?
Proud to say I have seen not a single minute of either the male or female version.

Big Brother is my guilty pleasure. Survivor, my twice/year staple.

Yes.
Not a fan of any "reality" shows, actually.
When they're bein' watched in my house, I get on the computer, and it's all background noise to me.
My dear DWifey will get up and leave the room, for whatever reason, and then come back and ask me "What did I miss?" My (honest) reply "I don't know. I wasn't payin' attention."
Try not to leave the room 'til the commercials, sweetie. ;)
